Professional Improvement Plans. 1. An administrator may place a teacher on a Professional Improvement Plan during the evaluation year or at the end of the year for the following year based on observations. 2. A teacher placed on a Professional Improvement Plan during the year will either be a Category 2 teacher for the following year or will be re-designated in the summary evaluation conference as a Category 1 teacher based on the evaluator’s recommendation. 3. Category 2 teachers will be placed on a Professional Improvement Plan. 4. Permanent teachers who are Category 2 will be evaluated solely on those areas in which they received a “needs to improve” or “unsatisfactory” on their previous evaluation.
