Promotion and Voluntary Demotion Pay Determinations. In the case of promotion, the employee shall be paid the starting rate for the position or 10% higher than their old rate, whichever is greater. However, when an employee takes a voluntary transfer to a lower paid classification (voluntary demotion), they shall receive a rate equal to their current rate or the average rate currently being paid for that lower classification, whichever is lowest. However, if the average for the classification is less than 30% above the base rate for the lower classification, the employee shall receive a rate equal to their current rate or 30% above the base rate for the lower classification.

Promotion and Voluntary Demotion Pay Determinations. A. In the case of promotion, the employee shall be paid the starting rate for the position or 10% higher than their old rate, whichever is greater. To the extent the employee’s new wage rate falls below the maximum hiring range rate for the new position, at the time of the promotion the hiring department may request that the employee’s pay be increased, up to the maximum of the hiring range, subject to the approval of the applicable Division Vice President and Human Resources. The University will notify the Union President of any such additional increase. The amount of any such additional increase shall be at the sole discretion of the University and shall not be subject to the grievance procedure.

  • Effective Date of Benefit Termination Medical, dental and life coverage termination will take effect on the first of the month following the loss of eligible employee or dependent status.   • Voluntary Demotions For purposes of this Section, the term Aopening@ shall apply to any permanent vacancy in a classification. The Department will assign voluntarily demoted employees beginning with the next employee pay cycle. Employees will have thirty (30) days to certify for position openings.   • Voluntary Demotion An employee requesting a voluntary demotion from a higher-rated position and who is subsequently demoted to the lower-rated position, shall be paid on the increment step appropriate to the employee’s continuous service with the Employer. A voluntary demotion shall not change an employee’s anniversary date.

  • Voluntary Demotion or Voluntary Reduction in Hours An employee has a right to his regularly assigned time, and shall not have it involuntarily reduced. Employees who take voluntary demotions or voluntary reductions in assigned time in lieu of layoff shall be, at the employee’s option, returned to a position in their former class or to present former positions with increased assigned time as vacancies become available, for a period of five (5) years and three (3) months, except that they shall be ranked in accordance with their seniority on any valid reemployment list.

  • Benefit Termination Any employee terminating employment shall be entitled to receive the District insurance contribution for the remainder of the calendar month in which the contribution is effective. In cases where separation occurs after completion of the employee’s full contract obligation (i.e. the end of the school/work year), benefit coverage will continue through August 31 of that year.

  • Voluntary Deductions A. The Employer agrees to deduct from the wages of any employee who is a member of the Union a DRIVE and/or a Teamsters Legal Defense Fund deduction as provided for in a written authorization. Such authorization must be executed by the employee and may be revoked by the employee at any time by giving written notice to both the Employer and the Union. The beginning and/or termination of this deduction will coincide with the payroll cycle.
