Starting Rate. Except as herein otherwise provided, the entrance salary for a new employee entering City service shall be the minimum salary for the class to which appointed. When circumstances warrant, the City Manager may approve an entrance salary which is more than the minimum salary. The City Manager's decision shall be final.
Starting Rate. 11.5.1.1 All staff new to a role will commence on step 1 of the relevant pay band, with the exception of the following specific circumstances.
Starting Rate. Except as herein otherwise provided, the entrance salary for a new employee entering AMP service shall be the minimum salary for the class to which appointed. When circumstances warrant, the City Manager, with a recommendation from AMP’s General Manager, may approve an entrance salary which is more than the minimum salary. The City Manager’s decision shall be final. An AMP employee who has successfully completed an AMP apprenticeship or trainee program will be transitioned to the “5” step or higher in the pay range for the journey-level classification.
Starting Rate. The starting rate for all newly hired employees shall be:
(a) For the first six (6) months of employment, twenty-five percent (25%) less than the applicable classification wage rate contained in Schedule A.
(b) For the following three (3) months of employment, twelve and one-half percent (12½) less than the applicable classification wage rate contained in Schedule A.
(c) The starting rate shall not apply to cooks, tradesmen, or other specialized categories of employees by agreement of the parties.
Starting Rate. All new employees may be subject to a starting rate of twenty percent (20%) less than the full rate as reflected in Schedule "A" for the first three (3) calendar months and twelve point five percent (12.5%) for the next three (3) calendar months. The starting rate shall not apply to: o Chef de parties and Journeypersons holding Culinary Trade Qualifications (Red Seal) o Maintenance personal holding Provincial Trade certification.
Starting Rate. New employees hired after ratification can be employed at a wage rate equal to no more than $0.10 below the scale for their respective classification for their probationary period. Following the expiration of their probationary period, such employees wage rates must be at the scale for their respective classification. Thereafter, all such employees receive the raises applicable to existing employees. In the event that $.10 below the scale rate is less than the provincial minimum wage rate at the time of hire, the employee will be hired at the provincial minimum wage and then increased to the scale rate at completion of probation.
Starting Rate. Employees normally begin in a classification at Step One. When circumstances warrant, the District General Manager or designee may, at their discretion, approve an entrance salary at a step higher than Step One.
Starting Rate. An employee who successfully completes six (6) months of employment will receive Starting Rate “B” of the Bargaining Unit Member’s salary grade as shown on the applicable Appendix.
Starting Rate. Within a classification, at the discretion of the Company, the starting rate may be up to one dollar ($1.00) below the existing rate for the first four hundred and eighty (480) regular hours worked after which the existing rate will apply.
