Provision for Single Arbitrator. In the event that the party initiating the grievance is content that the grievance be dealt with by a sole arbitrator, it shall so advise the other party when it submits the notice referring the grievance to arbitration. If, within fourteen (14) days after the notice of referral is submitted, the parties can agree to a sole arbitrator, the grievance shall be determined by a sole arbitrator. Failing such agreement, the regular arbitration procedure shall apply. The arbitrator’s expenses shall be shared equally by the parties.
