Education/Union Convention Leave. The Employer may grant leave of absence without pay or loss of seniority to one (1) employee at any one time to attend Union Conventions or Educational Sessions. Leaves will not be denied for any reason which is arbitrary, discriminatory (as defined under Article 5.01) or in bad faith. Such leave must be applied for at least two (2) weeks in advance and all leave for all employees shall not exceed twenty (20) working days per year.

(c) The Employer will pay the lost wages of employees who are on leave of absence at the written request of the Union and the Union will reimburse the Em- ployer the full amount of lost wages paid to the employees.

Such leaves must be applied for in writing at least four (4) weeks in advance of the commencement of the requested leave date. The cumulative day leave entitlements as contemplated under this Article are not to exceed twelve (12) working days in total for bargaining unit employees in any Collective Agreement contract year. The Employer will pay the lost wages of employees who are on Education/Union Convention leave of absence at the written request of the Union and the Union will reimburse the Employer the full amount of lost wages and ancillary costs including benefits paid to the employee. During said leave, employees will continue to accrue seniority and participate in the Employer’s benefit programs. **The Employer shall grant no more than 2 individuals upon request from the Local Union leave for up to 6 weeks per calendar year to be taken in a single block to assist the Local Union with servicing the membership and any community activities. Note: The Employee’s can not be from the same facility.
