Public holidays 5. 8.1 Payment for public holidays that fall on a work day The following table discusses various issues associated with public holidays. Full-time or part- time employees If you would ordinarily be required to work on a day on which a public holiday falls, and you do not work on it, then you are entitled to full pay at normal time for the time you would have worked on that day. You do not receive any overtime penalties or night shift allowances. Casuals You are not entitled to public holidays – you will only be paid for a public holiday if you work on the public holiday. Working public holidays See clause 5.8.2 Show day Only one day per year is allowed. During personal leave You will receive payment for the day as a public holiday and no reduction is made from your personal leave entitlement.

  • Public Holidays 11.1 The following days are public holidays: New Year's Day, Australia Day, Good Friday, Easter Monday, Anzac Day, Christmas Day and Boxing Day, and any other gazetted public holidays in the relevant state or territory in which the work is being performed, other than:

  • Public Holiday 6.1 The Worker shall be entitled to public holidays in accordance with the labour laws in Malaysia.
