Religious Holidays. When a religious holiday, not observed as a holiday, as provided in Section 2 above, falls on a supervisor's regularly scheduled work day, the supervisor shall be entitled to that day off to observe the religious holiday. Time to observe religious holidays shall be taken without pay except where the supervisor has sufficient accumulated vacation leave or accumulated compensatory time, or, by mutual consent, is able to make the time up. Supervisors shall notify the Appointing Authority at least twenty-eight (28) calendar days prior to the leave.
Religious Holidays. Employees may observe religious holidays on days which do not fall on Sunday or on a holiday as defined in Section 12.03, Subd. 1, above. Such days off shall be taken off without pay unless 1) the employee has accumulated vacation benefits available in which case the employee shall be required to take such days off as vacation, or 2) the employee obtains supervisory approval to work an equivalent number of hours (at straight-time rates of pay) at some other time during the calendar year. The employee must notify the Employer at least ten (10) calendar days in advance of the religious holiday of their intent to observe such holiday. The Employer may waive this ten (10) calendar day requirement if the Employer determines that absence of such employee will not substantially interfere with its operation.
Religious Holidays. Three (3) days leave of absence without pay may be granted to employees who wish to observe traditional and customary religious holidays which require, by custom, full day observance. Such leave shall be granted only if the employee shall file written application therefore with his immediate supervisor at least two (2) workdays before such religious holidays.
Religious Holidays. An employee shall have the option of working Boxing Day and Easter Monday if her worksite is open in exchange for two (2) paid days off to observe religious holidays other than those referenced in Article 17.1. Employees exercising this option shall not be entitled to compensation pursuant to Article 17.5 on Boxing Day and Easter Monday and shall provide the Employer with the dates of the alternative two (2) days for which leave will be requested. It is understood that this clause involves no increased costs to the Employer.
Religious Holidays. Employees, SUCCESS employees or sign language interpreters whose religious affiliation requires the observance of holidays other than those regularly scheduled in the school calendar may be excused by the Office of Human Resources without loss of compensation (current contract).
Religious Holidays. When a religious holiday, not observed as a holiday, as provided in Sections 2 and 3 above, falls on an employee's regularly scheduled work day, the employee shall be entitled to that day off to observe the religious holiday. An employee who chooses to observe such a religious holiday shall notify the employee's supervisor in writing at least twenty-one (21) calendar days prior to the religious holiday. This notice requirement does not apply when the employee chooses to use the floating holiday to observe the religious holiday. Time to observe religious holidays shall be taken without pay except where the employee has sufficient accumulated vacation leave or accumulated compensatory time, has used a floating holiday, or, by mutual consent, is able to make up the time.
Religious Holidays. A. An employee may be absent for two full days with pay for the observance of traditional and customary religious holidays. Such holidays are to be interpreted as those days when members of the employee’s religious group, in the observance of their fundamental beliefs, engage in religious duties and do not carry on their regular professional or business activities.
B. Religious leave may be charged to personal business leave with no loss of pay if the employee so elects.
Religious Holidays. Each employee is entitled to rearrange their work duties without loss of pay in order to observe the religious holiday(s) of his/her faith. In most instances these days are known to employees well in advance, and therefore the employee must notify their employment supervisor as early as possible before the religious holiday(s) about their intent to observe such holiday(s).
Religious Holidays. An employee shall have three (3) days of leave for observance of recognized special holidays which he or she believes to be mandated by his or her religion, provided that the leave he or she seeks would be given a positive recommendation by the proper authorities. The principal may contact the proper religious authority for their recommendation. The three (3) days allowed for religious holiday shall be in addition to sick days and other emergency days and shall not be accumulative.
Religious Holidays. An employee may request permission to take a leave of absence without pay for religious holidays observed by the employee. Such permission shall not be unreasonably withheld.
