Recognition and Rights of Stewards. (a) The Employer recognizes the Union's right to elect stewards to represent employees. The Employer and the Union will agree on the number of stewards. (b) The Union agrees to provide the Employer with an up-to-date list of the employees designated as stewards and alternates. (c) A xxxxxxx shall make every effort to perform xxxxxxx duties outside of normal working hours. (d) A xxxxxxx shall be granted time away from work activities with pay for the following duties: (1) investigation of complaints or grievances of an urgent nature where a delay until off work hours would be prejudicial to the affected employee(s); (2) accompanying an employee whom the xxxxxxx represents, when requested by the employee, to a meeting called by the Employer, where disciplinary action is anticipated; (3) presenting a complaint or grievance to the Employer in accordance with Article 8 (Complaint and Grievance Procedure). (4) supervision of ballot boxes and related functions during ratification votes; (5) attending meetings at the request of the Employer; and (6) maintaining bulletin board and/or union binders. (e) The Employer agrees that stewards will be permitted, with prior arrangement, reasonable use of the Employer's communication equipment.

Recognition and Rights of Stewards. (a) The Employer Company recognizes the Union's ’s right to elect stewards one Xxxxxxx and one alternate Xxxxxxx per fifteen (15) full-time employees or greater portion of for the Facility elected by the employees to represent the employees. The Employer and the Union will agree on the number of stewards. (b) The Union agrees to provide the Employer Company with an up-to-date list the names of the employees designated appointed as stewards the Xxxxxxx and alternates. (c) A an alternate Xxxxxxx who will serve in the Xxxxxxx’x absence, one of which will also be deemed the Unit President within the terms of the union constitution. The Xxxxxxx shall obtain the permission of his/her manager before leaving his/her work to perform his/her duties as a Xxxxxxx. The Xxxxxxx shall be granted reasonable time off. Leave from work for this purpose shall be with pay and shall not be unreasonably withheld. It is recognized by the parties that the regular wages and benefits during times when activities are undertaken by the Unit President on behalf of the union outside of activities directly related to the Company will be paid for by the Union. The Xxxxxxx shall execute his/her duties as xxxxxxx as expeditiously as possible and return directly to his/her position once these duties are completed. On resuming his/her normal duties, Stewards shall notify his/her Supervisor. Stewards will make every effort to perform xxxxxxx their duties as a Xxxxxxx outside of normal working hours. If performing his/her xxxxxxx The duties during scheduled working hours, the xxxxxxx willof a Xxxxxxx shall include: (1i) obtain investigation of grievances and assisting any employee whom the permission of Xxxxxxx represents in presenting a grievance in accordance with the Residential Supervisor (or designate) before performing or leaving work to perform duties as a xxxxxxx. Such permission shall not be unreasonably withheld; (2) make every endeavour to complete his/her business in as short a time as possible; (3) upon resuming normal duties, notify the Residential Supervisor (or designate); (4) not interrupt the normal operations of the workplace or disrupt employees from their work responsibilities without the permission of the Employer or employer designategrievance procedure. (dii) A xxxxxxx shall be granted time away from work activities with pay for the following duties: (1) investigation of complaints or grievances of an urgent nature where a delay until off work hours would be prejudicial to the affected employee(s); (2) accompanying an employee whom the xxxxxxx represents, when requested by the employee, to a meeting called by the Employer, where disciplinary action is anticipated; (3) presenting a complaint or grievance to the Employer in accordance with Article 8 (Complaint and Grievance Procedure). (4) supervision supervisor of ballot boxes and other related functions during ratification votes;; and (5iii) attending Attend meetings at the request of the Employer; and (6) maintaining bulletin board and/or union bindersCompany or Joint Consultation Committee. (eiv) The Employer agrees Company will provide fifteen (15) minutes paid time in a standard work week for the Unit President Xxxxxxx to orientate any new employees in that stewards week and provide them with a copy of their collective agreement. Every effort will be permitted, with prior arrangement, made to ensure that such meetings are kept to a reasonable use of the Employer's communication equipmentminimum and that new employees are aggregated as far as practicable into a single meeting.
