Refusal to Submit to Testing. A refusal to comply with a request for testing, submission of false information in connection with a test, or any attempt to falsify test results through tampering, contamination, adulteration, or substitution, shall be considered a refusal to submit to testing and will be treated the same as a positive test result. Refusal shall include an inability to provide a specimen or breath sample without a valid medical explanation, as well as a verbal declaration, obstructive behavior, or physical absence resulting in the inability to conduct the test.
Refusal to Submit to Testing. If an employee fails or refused to submit to reasonable suspicion drug or alcohol testing, the employee will be subject to immediate removal from service and corrective action, including but not limited to a charge of insubordination and termination.

Refusal to Submit to Testing. An employee's refusal to submit to a test when directed will be treated the same as a positive and will be immediately placed on leave. Failure or refusal to submit to such tests as directed includes the failure to proceed directly to the testing facility as directed, failure to provide an adequate amount of urine for testing, or failure to complete all of the necessary paperwork. Additionally, notwithstanding any other provision of this policy, such employee may be subject to serious disciplinary action, up to and including termination.
Refusal to Submit to Testing. The Sheriff requires a consent form to be signed by the individual prior to testing. Any employee who refuses to sign or submit to testing will be questioned as to the reason(s) for refusal. Unless there is a valid reason for refusal, the employee will be subject to disciplinary action up to and including discharge.

Refusing to take a substance test includes: failure to appear for the test within a reasonable time after being directed to do so; failure to remain at the test site until the test is complete; failure to provide adequate breath or urine for testing without a valid medical explanation; failure to cooperate with any directions given during the testing process, including directions for an observed sample collection; use of a prosthetic device that could interfere with the test; or adulteration or substitution of the test sample. Refusal to submit to testing may result in disciplinary action up to and including termination.
