Reimbursement for Job-Related Courses or Training Programs. Harford County Public Schools will reimburse employees for the actual cost of tuition for job-related courses or training programs up to $175.00 per credit. The number of credits to be reimbursed per year will not exceed a total of twelve (12) credits. The total number of credits for any employee that will be reimbursed by the school system will not exceed a total of sixty (60) credits. In order to qualify for reimbursement, all courses and/or training programs must be approved by the immediate supervisor and the appropriate assistant superintendent prior to enrollment in the course or training program. In order to be reimbursed, the employee must pass the course or training program with a “C” or better when letter grades are issued or submit official proof of successfully completing the course or training program where grades are not issued.

  • Time Off for Union Activities A. Conventions and Conferences Union-designated employees may be allowed time off without pay to attend union-sponsored conventions or conferences. Approval for the time off must be granted in advance of the absence and in accordance with the Employer’s leave policies. Approval will not be granted if the absence interferes with the Employer’s ability to provide coverage during the requested time off or the operating needs of the agency cannot be met.

  • Professional Activities The Superintendent/Principal shall be encouraged to attend appropriate professional meetings at the local, state, and national levels. Within budget constraints, such costs of attendance shall be paid by the Board. The Superintendent/Principal’s attendance at professional meetings at the national level must have prior approval of the Board.

  • Labor/Management Relations Section 9.1 Representatives of the Union, not to exceed five (5) in number including at least one (1) representative of each shift, and representatives of the Employer, shall meet at least quarterly at mutually agreed upon times for up to two (2) hours to discuss matters of mutual concern relating to the interpretation, application, or administration of this Agreement and existing work rules which affect the members of the bargaining unit. Each party shall prepare and submit an agenda to the other party one (1) week prior to the scheduled meeting.
