Religious Observance Beginning in the 2022-23 school year, teachers may use up to two (2) days, deducted from sick leave, for required religious observance based on sincerely held religious beliefs that meets all requirements below: ▪ For religious observance of a sacred holiday as specified by the religion where work is prohibited by the religion; and ▪ Such observance cannot take place outside of the normal work day; and ▪ A written request, including the details about the holiday, must be submitted to the Director of Human Resources at least ten (10) days prior to the religious observance.
