Other Religious Observances. ‌ (a) Employees who are members of non-Christian religions are entitled to up to two days leave without pay per calendar year to observe spiritual or holy days. Such leave shall not be unreasonably withheld. (b) A minimum of two weeks' notice is required for leave under this provision. Where two weeks' notice is not possible due to the unpredictable nature of the spiritual or holy days, then as much notice as possible shall be provided. (c) Employees granted leave under this provision may utilize or reschedule CTO, ETO, unused vacation or lieu days.

A minimum of two (2) weeks’ notice is required for leave under this provision.

Other Religious Observances. 5.01 Employees who observe different or additional spiritual holidays may, in accordance with the provisions of this Agreement, request annual leave, leave without pay, time in lieu, or a shift exchange in order to fulfill their religious obligations. 5.02 Notwithstanding clause 5.01, at the request of the Employee and at the discretion of the Employer, time off with pay may be granted to the employee in order to fulfill his or her religious obligations. The number of hours with pay so granted must be made up hour for hour within a period of two (2) months, at times agreed to by the Employer. Hours worked as a result of time off granted under this clause shall not be compensated nor should they result in any additional payments by the Employer. 5.03 An employee who intends to request leave or time off under this Article must give notice to the Employer as far in advance as possible but no later than four (4) weeks before the requested period of absence.

Where possible, a minimum of thirty (30) days’ notice is required. Such leave shall not be unreasonably withheld. Employees granted leave under this provision may utilize banked time as per Article 14.06.

Other Religious Observances. As operational requirements permit, Permanent Employees who are members of non-Christian religions are entitled to up to two (2) days of unpaid leave per calendar year to observe holy days. Such leave shall not be unreasonably withheld. (a) The Permanent Employee is required to give the Employer a minimum of two (2) weeks’ notice for such leave. The Employer may accept a lesser period of notice where there are extenuating circumstances. (b) Permanent Employees granted leave under this provision may use banked overtime or vacation for the leave granted.
