Common use of Required Membership Clause in Contracts

Required Membership. During the life of this Agreement, employees of the Employer who are subject to this Agreement shall be required as a condition of employment to maintain membership in the Union in good standing, subject to Federal law. Compliance is required by the 31st day after employment or the 31st day after the date of this Agreement, whichever is later. Any employee, who at the time of entry into this Agreement had the option to defer membership or maintain membership on an annual basis, shall retain such rights.
