Responsibilities In Event of Disruption of a Placement or Dissolution of an Adoption Sample Clauses

Responsibilities In Event of Disruption of a Placement or Dissolution of an Adoption. Prospective Adoptive Parents acknowledge and agree that they are fully responsible for all aspects of the child's care, including all financial aspects, until the child is adopted by another family, regardless of whether the prospective adoptive parents were granted a full adoption decree, guardianship, or physical custody at the time the child was placed with the family. These responsibilities will survive regardless of whether a disruption or dissolution is voluntary, as when initiated by the Prospective Adoptive Parents, or involuntary, as when initiated by WHFC, a governmental authority or other entity. Prospective Adoptive Parents agree to fully cooperate with WHFC, any government authority, or any other entity in the event of a disruption or dissolution by cooperating in the transition of the child, by providing the child’s medical information, legal documentation, and personal effects, by freely sharing the events leading to the disruption or dissolution, and by complying with all post-placement reporting requirements. Prospective Adoptive Parents acknowledge and agree that as between the Prospective Adoptive Parents and WHFC and regardless of whether a disruption or dissolution is voluntary or involuntary (i) WHFC has no obligation to take financial, legal or custodial responsibility for a child once a child has been placed with the prospective adoptive parents and (ii) WHFC does not have the ability or responsibility to care for a child in event of a disruption or a dissolution as a guardian, custodian or by arranging residential care. Prospective Adoptive Parents also agree that WHFC is not obligated to take custody of a child under a parental relinquishment of responsibilities in event of disruption or dissolution (whether voluntary or involuntary), even in the circumstance of a child being placed with a new prospective adoptive family. Prospective Adoptive Parents further agree not to attempt to disrupt or dissolve an adoption by returning the child to the child's country of origin without WHFC's permission. In the event of a disruption or dissolution of an adoption under the Hague Convention of Protection of Children and Co-Operation in Respect of Intercountry Adoption, prospective adoptive parents also acknowledge that written permission of the Central Authority of the country of origin and the U.S. Secretary of State must be obtained prior to any such return.
