Restructured School Day for Professional Development. Calexico Unified School District & ACT/CTA/NEA agree to permit each school site to develop a restructured schedule for the purpose of professional development. A restructured schedule refers to an instructional schedule that banks a portion of instructional minutes. Instructional minutes may be banked to create minimum days for a variety of staff development days. The instructional minutes shall remain the same and shall conform to instructional minute requirements set forth by the State of California. The restructured schedule shall remain flexible and may be implemented as the staff deems.

Restructured School Day for Professional Development. Calexico Unified School District & ACT/CTA/NEA agree to permit each school site to develop a restructured schedule for the purpose of professional development. The instructional minutes shall remain the same and shall conform to instructional minute requirements set forth by the State of California. The restructured schedule shall remain flexible and may be implemented as the staff deems. 14.11.1 Elementary prep days shall remain as per contract (20 prep days, 12/11/02 settlement article 14.6). Elementary schools may elect to bank minutes to add professional development days. The restructured schedule must be agreed to by a majority of the teachers at the school site, the Administration, and the Association. 14.11.2 Elections The Association and the District agree to collaborate together to monitor the election process via secret ballot. Elections will be held in April of the year prior to implementation. Whereas, the District and ACT mutually agree that it is appropriate to extend the onsite-time for teachers in Grades TK-8 and Aurora High School, and to increase the teacher onsite- time/instructional minutes for teachers in grades 9-12. (NOTE: This preceded the change to article sections 14.1, 14.3, and 14.4 to reflect a six hour and twenty-five minute workday.) Instructional minutes for Grades 9-12 at Calexico High School shall be increased by 10 minutes per day and instructional schedules for grades 9-12 at Calexico High School Sites shall be identical.

  • Professional Development Fund A budget item equal to one-half (½) of one (1) percent of employees' salaries shall be set aside annually to be used to:

  • Professional Development 9.01 Continuous professional development is a hallmark of professional nursing practice. As a self-regulating profession, nursing recognizes the importance of maintaining a dynamic practice environment which includes ongoing learning, the maintenance of competence, career development, career counselling and succession planning. The parties agree that professional development includes a diverse range of activities, including but not limited to formal academic programs; short-term continuing education activities; certification programs; independent learning committee participation. The parties recognize their joint responsibility in and commitment to active participation in the area of professional development.

  • Professional Development Funds 23.1.1 Two Professional Development Funds, a Professional Development Support Fund and an Education Leave Fund, shall be established to support professional development activities as defined in 23.2. On April 1st of each year, the College will allocate an amount equal to no less than 0.9% of total faculty salary (exclusive of severance payments) to the Professional Development Support Fund, and an amount equal to no less than 0.6% of total faculty salary to the Educational Leave Fund. Any unused balances in these funds shall carry over to the next budget year.

  • Professional Development Plan Professional Development Plan (PDP) refers to plans developed by faculty members addressing the criteria contained in Article 22 and Appendix G.

  • Professional Development Leave A. Policy. Professional development leave shall be made available to employees who meet the requirements set forth below. Such leaves are granted to increase an employee's value to the University through enhanced opportunities for professional renewal, educational travel, study, formal education, research, writing, or other experience of professional value, not as a reward for service.

  • Professional Development Day The Employees shall be entitled to spend three (3) working days with pay for the purpose of doing research and preparation related to their work at a date mutually acceptable to the Employer and the Employee.

  • Professional Development Days Upon request, each Employee shall be granted at least three (3) professional development days annually for professional development, at the Basic Rate of Pay. An Employee shall be advised, prior to taking any professional development days of any transportation, registration fees, subsistence and other expenses that will be paid by the Employer. Such hours not used in each fiscal year shall not be carried forward into subsequent years. Applications for such paid professional development opportunities shall be made in writing, to the Employer as early as possible.

  • Professional Development Program (a) The parties agree to continue a Professional Development Program for the maintenance and development of the faculty members' professional competence and effectiveness. It is agreed that maintenance of currency of subject knowledge, the improvement of performance of faculty duties, and the maintenance and improvement of professional competence, including instructional skills, are the primary professional development activities of faculty members.
