Health Committee. The Hospital and the Union agree that they mutually desire to maintain standards of safety and health in the Hospital in order to prevent accidents, injury and illness. Recognizing its responsibilities under the applicable legislation, the Hospital agrees to accept as a member of its Accident Prevention Health Safety Committee at least one representative selected or appointed by the Union from amongst bargaining unit employees. Such Committee shall identify potential dangers and hazards, institute means of improving health and safety programs and recommend actions to be taken to improve conditions related to safety and health. The Hospital agrees to cooperate reasonably in providing necessary information to enable the Committee to fulfil its functions. Meetings shall be held every second month or more frequently at the call of the chair if required. The Committee shall maintain minutes of all meetings and make the same available for review. Any representative appointed or selected in accordance with hereof shall serve for a term of one calendar year from the date of appointment which may be renewed for further periods of one (1) year. Time off for such to attend meetings of the Accident Prevention Health and Safety Committee in accordance with the foregoing shall be granted and time so spent attending such meetings shall be deemed to be work time for which the shall be paid by the Hospital at his regular or premium rate as may be applicable. The Union agrees to endeavour to obtain the full cooperation of its membership in the observation of all safety rules and practices. Pregnant employees may request to be transferred from their current duties if, in the professional opinion of the employee's physician, the pregnancy may be at risk. If such a transfer is not feasible, the pregnant employee, if she so requests, will be granted an unpaid leave of absence before commencement of the maternity leave referred to in Article Where the Hospital identifies high risk areas where employees are exposed to Hepatitis the Hospital will provide, at no cost to the employees, a Hepatitis B vaccine.

Health Committee. It is agreed that a standing committee will be created called the Health Insurance Committee. It shall be made up of six (6) City of Miami Employees, one member appointed by the IAFF, one member appointed by AFSCME, Local 1907, one member appointed by AFSCME, Local 871, two members appointed by the City Manager and one picked by mutual agreement of the Unions and City Manager. The Group Benefits Coordinator shall serve as a technical advisor to the committee, but will not be a member nor have a vote. Based on this commitment and in collaboration with labor and management, this Committee will work during the term of this contract to identify ways to strengthen and improve our health plan. This will include, but is not limited to: Obtain timely, accurate, and transparent reporting, with full disclosure, of all costs from our vendors. Identify plan vendor administrative improvements and efficiencies that can have a significant impact on reducing health expenditures and to ensure that our health plan vendors are delivering maximum administrative savings. Educate employees on better understanding and use of their health plan. Identify the impact of health improvement and disease management initiatives to decrease overall medical and drug costs. Identify members who would benefit from health improvement initiatives and institute programs to improve member’s health. Evaluate and measure our pharmacy benefit total costs and fully assess the costs from our pharmacy benefit manager (PBM) vendor. Identify proven strategies to more effectively provide prescription benefits, and obtain vendor (PBM) administrative savings to successfully manage this important benefit. Make recommendations to the City Manager to reduce health expenditures while maintaining a quality health plan at an affordable cost and which improves the health of employees and dependents. Review employee complaints and remedy situations concerning claims so long as the decision does not change or impact current benefits. This is intended to reduce the need for the grievance procedure; however, the bargaining unit member does not waive his/her right to file a grievance should the committee’s remedy is not satisfactory to the employee. Review and update the Summary Plan Description (currently titled City of Miami Life and Health Benefits). Health Committee. The parties will participate in a city-wide Health Benefits Evaluation Committee, which will include a minimum of two (2) union members. The Committee will meet at least quarterly to review progress of cost containment efforts, review the administrative company's performance and offer suggestions regarding other options concerning employee health insurance. The Committee will develop checks and balances on plan adjustments to guarantee the relative cost and value of the tiers are maintained. This committee may also develop, implement and evaluate Wellness Program activities and services and review the effectiveness of the Employee Assistance Program. The Health Committee will review the health benefit costs at its quarterly meetings and make recommendations to the parties that address increased costs.
Health Committee. YCOE and AFSCME agree to participate in an office-wide committee to explore health insurance coverage related issues. The committee shall consist of two representatives of AFSCME. The committee shall meet as necessary to propose and/or review changes in health insurance carriers, health plans and other benefit-related issues.

The Employer agrees to co-operate reasonably providing necessary information to enable the Committee to fulfill its function. Meetings shall be held every second month or more frequently at the call of the chair, if required. The Committee shall maintain minutes of all meetings and make the same available for review. All time spent by a member of the Occupational Health and Safety Committee attending meetings of the Committee, shall be deemed to be time worked for which she shall be paid by the Employer at her regular rate, and she shall be entitled to such time from her work, as is necessary to attend scheduled meetings. The Association agrees to endeavour to obtain the full co-operation of its membership in the observation of all safety rules and practices.
Health Committee. A joint committee made up of representatives of the bargaining unit and the District will meet to analyze utilization of benefit plans, levels of coverage, quality of services, co-payment rates, broker (third party administrator and/or consultant) and alternative benefit programs and rates in order to make recommendations for cost saving measures.

Health Committee. A health insurance committee will be formed to study, review and monitor existing and alternative health insurance plans that deliver health insurance services to employees in the most cost-effective manner for the School District and employees. This committee, each year by May 1, shall issue a report that includes findings and recommendations for changes to existing health insurance options. The committee's recommendations shall not be binding on the Association or the Board, but the Association and the Board shall act upon the recommendations each year by June 1 and may mutually agree in writing to modify the health insurance provisions in this Agreement.
