In particular, the set of twenty-five spectral categories is generated by grouping leaves of the decision tree up to their mother category, if any. These twenty-five spectral categories make up the so called “Intermediate set of Classes” which is represented in an output map featuring a semantic resolution intermediate between the fine and the coarse one. • Table 3 shows an aggregation of the twenty-five spectral categories described in Table 2 into eleven spectral categories. In particular, spectral categories belonging to the “Intermediate set of Classes” are grouped based on their semantic meaning. The eleven categories generated by fusion make up the so called “Small set of Classes” which is represented in an output map featuring a coarse semantic resolution.
