Common use of Safety and Safety Committee Clause in Contracts

Safety and Safety Committee. There shall be established a Safety Committee comprised of the following, which committee shall function through the life of the Agreement: • City Safety Officer, who may be a Department Head or Director of Personnel • President of Teamsters 404 or Designee • Three (3) other members appointed by the Union Commissioner of Public Works/Utilities or his designee Director of Maintenance or his/her designee The authority of this committee as a whole shall be the following: Members shall bring to the Committee safety violations. The Committee shall make recommendations for remedial action in regard to specific violations to the Mayor and the Department Head concerned. Upon approval by the Mayor, any remedial action requiring unbudgeted expenditures shall be subject to appropriation by the City Council, and such request for appropriation shall be submitted as soon as practical.
