Overtime Rates Clause Samples
The Overtime Rates clause defines the pay rates applicable to employees for hours worked beyond their standard scheduled hours. Typically, this clause specifies the increased wage—such as time-and-a-half or double time—that applies when employees exceed a certain number of hours in a day or week. For example, if an employee works more than 40 hours in a week, the additional hours may be compensated at a higher rate. The core function of this clause is to ensure fair compensation for extra work and to comply with labor laws regarding overtime, thereby protecting both employer and employee interests.
