Common use of Salary Upon Appointment Clause in Contracts

Salary Upon Appointment. Except as herein otherwise provided, the entrance salary step for a new employee entering the classified service shall be the minimum salary step for the class to which appointed. When circumstances warrant, the City Manager may approve an entrance salary, which is more than the minimum salary step for the class to which that employee is appointed. Such a salary may not be more than the maximum salary for the class to which that employee is appointed.
