Alternative Schedules. A. A school may request regularly scheduled modified days for staff development and planning. The determination of whether or not a school will schedule modified days, continue or discontinue same, and the purpose of the programs shall be by mutual agreement of the faculty and principal and subject to the approval of the Superintendent. The total teaching time during a week within which a modified day falls shall be no less than that provided through a regular schedule. B. Schools may schedule minimum days for staff development which is designed collaboratively by site administration and staff, planning, and/or conducting parent-teacher conferences. Minimum days shall be at least one-half (1/2) of the school's regular day plus the lunch period for students. Teaching time will not be made up provided that schools are in compliance with instructional time as defined by the Public Education Department 1. There may be scheduled by the District at least four (4) minimum days each year. The program for one (1) of these days may be determined by the District Superintendent. 2. There will be scheduled up to eight (8) hours per semester each year, on a reduced teaching day basis, for parent-teacher conferences at the elementary level. 3. A school may request of the Superintendent additional minimum days for programs developed by the principal and faculty. 4. A school may request of the Superintendent exemption from a minimum day and/or program.

Alternative Schedules. An employee may work an alternative work schedule with the written permission of the employee’s Department Manager. The alternative work schedule may be ended by the Department Manager and the employee’s schedule changed to a different alternative work schedule or the standard work schedule. The District may change the employees work period when an employee begins and/or ends working an alternative schedule. The alternative work schedules are listed in the table below. a. General working hours for 9/80, 4/10s, and 3/12 schedules (as described below) will be between 6:30 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. with non-exempt employees receiving either an unpaid 30 to 60 minute lunch period. Starting and ending times, as well as lunch periods, will be at the discretion of the Department Manager. b. The District will pay a 5% night shift differential for all hours worked between 6:00 pm and 6:00 am for employees regularly assigned to the night shift work schedule. c. The District will pay a 5% weekend differential for hours worked between 6:00 pm Friday through 6:00 am Monday for employees regularly assigned to work on a weekend day. This differential is not in addition to any night shift differential. Employees will either receive a night shift differential or a weekend differential, but not both. d. The Department Manager or their designee will consider employee’s seniority within the classification in establishing priority for shift work scheduling.
Alternative Schedules. The teaching hour guidelines for the various levels of instruction which are outlined in Sections D, E and F below will not preclude the adoption of professional development or similar alternative schedules. Any such alternative schedules will be implemented only upon mutual agreement of the Board and the Association, and no such schedule will result in any significant alteration in the overall instructional responsibilities of the teachers involved.
Alternative Schedules. Should an employee be regularly sched- uled to work a schedule other than the “normal” schedule specified in Section 1001, any regularly scheduled hours that would otherwise cause payment of Contractual Overtime Compensation as per Section 1104 shall instead be paid at the employee’s straight hourly rate of pay with all other attendant incentives/premiums for which s/he might be eligible.
Alternative Schedules. Alternative schedules and flex-time may be utilized if agreed to by the Sheriff and the employee(s) involved. Decisions of the Sheriff regarding employee requests for alternative schedules or flex-time shall not be subject to the grievance procedure.

The Department Manager or his/her designee will consider employee’s seniority within the classification in establishing priority for shift work scheduling. Work Schedules Overtime Compensation Sick leave, Vacation, Holiday 12 hour shift The workday is 12 consecutive hours of work. The schedule is three 12 hour workdays during a seven day workweek on the short week, followed by three 12‐hour workdays and one 8 hour workday during the alternating seven day workweek (long week) for a total of 80 hours during two consecutive weeks.(2b)(2c) Non –exempt employees shall be compensated at the overtime rate for all hours worked in excess of 12 in a single workday, or in excess of eight on the single 8 hour work day during the long week, or in excess of forty four 44 in the long week or in excess of 36 in the short week. 12 Hours per day, or 8 hours on the scheduled 8 hour day 8 Hours per holiday. The balance will be made up with floating holiday, vacation, or CTO hours

Alternative Schedules. Nothing in the Agreement shall prevent the Employer and an employee, or group of employees, with the prior notice to and approval of the Parties, from mutually agreeing to alternative work schedules. This shall include “Baylor” plan type schedules at direct care institutions. An alternative schedule is implemented on an ongoing basis for a defined duration and may not create work hours below or beyond the basic workweek. Employees shall have the right to request an alternative schedule at least three (3) calendar weeks prior to implementation, unless mutually agreed otherwise, and to receive a timely response from the Employer. Every alternative schedule shall be reduced to writing, acknowledged by the Employer and employee(s), and placed in the employee’s personnel file.
Alternative Schedules. SEIU Local 1021 and the County of San Xxxxxxx recognize that alternative schedules including 9/80’s, 4/10’s, and telework are important components to recruitment and retention of an engaged workforce. Departments may offer a variety of work schedules and teleworking options in accordance with County policy and individual MOU provisions. Teleworking is outlined in the Telework Agreement between the County and SEIU.
