Common use of SALARY WHEN BUMPING Clause in Contracts

SALARY WHEN BUMPING. An employee who bumps into a lower class shall continue to be compensated at the employee's last regular salary range and step he/she received prior to bumping until: a. Two calendar years have elapsed since he/she bumped into the lower position, b. the monthly salary of the lower position exceeds the current monthly salary. If at the end of the two-year period the salary of the lower position is still less than the Y-rated salary, the employee's salary shall drop to the lower position's salary. The employee's initial step placement shall be continued and step advancement in the lower class shall be the same as if the employee continued to serve in the class from which laid off.
