Catastrophic Leave Donation Program. Any CSU employee who accrues vacation or sick leave credits may voluntarily donate either of those credits to any other CSU employee on the same campus, if the recipient employee has exhausted all accrued leave credits, i.e., sick leave, vacation and CTO, due to a catastrophic illness or injury. Catastrophic illness or injury is an illness or injury that has totally incapacitated the employee from work. The following provisions shall apply:
Catastrophic Leave Donation Program. The City shall provide Personnel Rules or an Administrative Manual policy of catastrophic leave donation which includes eligibility for participation by bargaining unit members. The City may, from time-to-time, modify the Personnel Rules or Administrative Manual procedures for catastrophic leave donation. The City’s catastrophic leave donation program shall provide a method for employees to voluntarily donate paid leave time to their coworkers. Paid leave time that may be donated for the catastrophic leave donation program is limited to vacation, floating holidays, and compensatory time balances.
Catastrophic Leave Donation Program.
14.13.1 An employee must have completed probation in order to participate in or donate to the catastrophic leave program. An employee may donate earned vacation in one day increments to the catastrophic leave program and may donate up to five earned vacation days per fiscal year.
Catastrophic Leave Donation Program. 1. Employees are eligible to participate in the Catastrophic Leave Donation Program, as recipients and donors, consistent with the local campus guidelines.
2. Employees may submit an application for the Catastrophic Leave Donation Program when they have exhausted all but their last 40 hours of paid leave.

Chronic conditions may also be considered catastrophic, even if the condition results in only intermittent absences. Conditions which are short term in nature, such as colds, flu, or minor injuries, are generally not deemed catastrophic. The campus must make a case-by-case determination. The following provisions shall apply:
Catastrophic Leave Donation Program. Employees will be eligible for participation in the County Catastrophic Leave Donation Program as outlined in PMR 44 and any modifications thereto.
Catastrophic Leave Donation Program. Any employee who suffers from a catastrophic illness or injury or who must be absent to care for a member of the employee’s immediate family who suffers from a catastrophic illness may participate in a catastrophic leave donation program, provided:
15.4.8.1 The employee requests in writing to participate.
15.4.8.2 The employee provides written verification of the catastrophic illness or injury or of the catastrophic illness or injury of the immediate family member and of the need for the employee to provide care for the immediate family member.
15.4.8.3 The employee exhausts all accrued paid leave credits.
15.4.8.4 The District determines that the employee is unable to work due to the employee’s or the immediate family member’s catastrophic illness or injury, and in the case of the immediate family member, the employee’s need to care for the family member.
15.4.8.5 Employees desiring to donate sick/vacation leave credits authorize the donation in writing for a minimum of eight (8) hours and acknowledge in writing that the donation cannot be revoked.
15.4.8.6 A catastrophic illness or injury is one which is expected to incapacitate the employee or the immediate family member for at least three (3) months, or which is diagnosed as a terminal illness or injury.
15.4.8.7 Upon return to work, the employee may continue to use donated leave credits for the purpose of related, follow-up medical care consistent with section 15.
Catastrophic Leave Donation Program. The parties agree to the catastrophic leave donation program (donation of accrued sick/vacation leave) as noted in Appendix E.
Catastrophic Leave Donation Program. Catastrophic leave donation is designed to allow employees to donate vacation leave to their coworkers in times of exceptional need due to a catastrophic illness or serious medical condition anticipated to last at least ten (10) consecutive days of the employee, or the employee’s spouse/registered domestic partner, parent, child, or person for whom the employee has been designated as legal guardian.
A. To be eligible for this benefit, an employee must have been employed by the County for one (1) continuous year and worked no less than one thousand two hundred fifty (1,250) hours over the immediate preceding twelve (12) months. Catastrophic Leave Donation Program. Employees may donate vacation hours, personal leave hours, or administrative leave hours under the Catastrophic Leave Donation Program outlined in the Gilroy Human Resources Rules and Regulations.
