Secondary Teaching Load. 1. The normal daily teaching load in the secondary schools shall not exceed four (4) teaching periods on a 5 x 5 block schedule without extra compensation. a. This extra compensation is to be calculated as a prorated portion of the individual teacher’s regular contracted teaching salary for that year. 2. When required to have more than four (4) subject preparations per semester the individual teacher will be compensated an additional four hundred dollars ($400.00) per semester per extra preparation. 3. When a teacher voluntarily agrees to teach a class during the time contractually allotted for a planning period, the teacher shall be compensated for such extra work by paying the teacher 1/6 of his/her contracted classroom salary for the teacher per year for each year of service, to be prorated for each fractional year of said service.
