Common use of Section 1: Sick Leave Clause in Contracts

Section 1: Sick Leave. A. All teachers shall have thirteen (13) days sick leave each school year credited to them at the beginning of the year, but prorated if they leave the School District for any reason prior to the end of the school year, accumulative to the number of teacher work days. A written statement of accumulated sick leave shall be given each teacher by October 1st of each year. Pro-ration also applies to teachers who enter the system after the beginning of the school year. Teachers with a minimum of seven (7) years in the Brown City school system who retire or resign with at least thirty (30) sick days accumulated shall receive Thirty ($30.00) Dollars for each accumulated sick day. The maximum days accumulated will be equal to the number of teaching days per school year.
