Sick Leaves a. The employee shall be credited with four (4) days of sick leave at the end of the first month of employment of each contract year and shall thereafter be credited for one (1) day of sick leave for each month of employment which shall be credited to the employee at the end of the month and which shall not be used prior to the time it is earned and credited to the employee. Further, the employee shall not earn more than the total of one (1) day of sick leave times the number of months of employment during the year of employment; therefore, by way of example a ten (10) month employee would earn a total of ten (10) days if all ten (10) months were worked by the employee. Termination accrual and withholding shall be in accordance with § 1012.61 (2) (a), F.S. The employee shall be required to check the box marked "Sick Leave" on the supplied form, upon return to work to receive compensation for said leave. Sick leave may be used for pregnancy. Unused sick leave days shall accumulate from year to year.
b. In accordance with Nassau County School Board policies, an employee may authorize his or her spouse, child, parent, or sibling, who is also an employee of the Nassau County School Board, to use sick leave that has accrued to the authorizing employee, provided that the recipient may not use the donated sick leave until all of his or her sick leave has been depleted, excluding sick leave from a sick leave pool, if the recipient participates in a sick leave pool. Donated sick leave under this paragraph shall have no terminal pay value as provided in Article X Section D (Terminal Sick Leave Pay).
c. An employee may donate up to fifty percent (50%) of his/her accumulated sick leave, not to exceed twenty-five (25) days, to another employee (recipient) who has been approved by the district payroll office to accept such donated leave with the following conditions:
(1) The donor must retain at least eight (8) sick leave days after authorized days have been donated.
(2) The identity of the donor may not be made public except as required for audit purposes and to the extent required by law.
(3) Sick leave deducted from each donor’s sick leave balance shall be in proportion to the need approved.
(4) Unused donated sick leave shall be returned to the donor(s) in proportion to that donated by all donors.

Sick Leaves a. After the first year of full-time employment, a full-time faculty member who, by reason of personal illness or a medically certified disability is incapable of performing the regular duties of a faculty member, shall be entitled to a sick leave, with full pay (in lieu of contract salary which otherwise would be earned), for a period not to exceed six months. In no event, however, shall the University’s payment for sick leave exceed one-half (1/2) of the faculty member’s then prevailing annual contract salary. If the faculty member receives governmental disability benefits and/or workers’ compensation benefits during the period of absence, the faculty member shall be paid the difference between the benefits received and the benefits provided above.
b. During the first year of full-time employment, the period of paid sick leave shall be limited to one month.
c. A faculty member who requires a sick leave must notify the Xxxx (or cause notification) of the faculty member’s illness or injury as soon as possible and the approximate date he/she expects to return to work.
d. A faculty member disabled for more than two weeks is required to submit to the Benefits Office within Human Resources a medical certificate from the faculty member’s physician setting forth the nature of the disability, the diagnosis and prognosis thereof and the approximate date he/she expects to return to work.
e. After the faculty member submits such certificate, the Administration may request the faculty member to submit to an examination by a physician of the Administration’s choice.
f. If the physician selected by the Administration and the attending physician disagree as to the ability of the faculty member to return to work, the faculty member, at the request of the Administration, shall submit to an examination by a third physician whose name shall be submitted by an impartial medical panel of the Queens County or New York County Medical Society. The decision of such panel physician shall be binding on both the faculty member and the Administration as to the ability of the faculty member to return to work.
g. If the faculty member fails or refuses to submit such certificate or fails or refuses to be examined by a physician selected by the Administration or a panel physician, the faculty member’s sick leave compensation from the University shall cease. Sick Leaves. 15.1.1 The Board shall provide for a compensated leave of absence from duty to any unit member who is compelled to be absent from duty because of accident, illness, or quarantine.
15.1.2 Unit members employed five (5) days per week for the full school year are entitled to twelve (12) days sick leave each school year commencing on the first day of employment. Unit members employed for the full school year for less than five (5) days per week are entitled to twelve (12) days divided by five (5) days and multiplied by the number of days worked per week each school year.
15.1.3 Unit members who work five (5) days per week for the full school year but for less than a maximum day are entitled to twelve (12) days sick leave each school year of the same length regularly worked.
15.1.4 Should a unit member be transferred from a day of less than maximum time to one of greater (or of maximum) time, said unit member’s accumulated sick leave days shall be reduced in direct proportion to the ratio of time previously worked per day to time presently worked per day.
15.1.5 Unit members hired for less than a full school year (i.e., 10 months) shall earn sick leave in direct proportion to that earned by a person employed a full year in the same position. However, a new employee of the District shall not be eligible to take more than six (6) days, or the proportionate amount to which the unit member may be entitled under this section, until the first day of the calendar month after completion of six (6) months of active service with the District.
15.1.6 Any unit member who is absent from duty on account of illness or accident for more than their sick leave entitlement and for up to 100 days total shall receive fifty percent (50%) of their regular daily salary for each day of such leave. Any unit member who is absent from duty on account of illness for more of their sick leave entitlement and for more than 100 days shall receive no pay for such period.
15.1.7 Unit members absent due to claimed sick leave may be required to submit a physician’s statement or that of a person authorized by a well-recognized religious sect, denomination, or organization to treat people verifying the absence was due to illness and the dates of illness. The District need not assume that a unit member’s statement establishes disability conclusively but may require a review and examination by a physician selected by the District or a practitioner for the unit member’s faith selected by the District. ...
Sick Leaves. 9.2.1 Each employee shall be entitled to one day a month leave of absence for illness during the year. Employees working less than 12 months a year and/or 8 hours a day shall have their sick leave prorated respectively.
9.2.2 When employees are absent from their duties because of illness, and they have exhausted all available and accumulated sick leave, the employee shall be eligible for 100 days plus their annual sick leave allocation inclusive of all days used. For this additional sick leave, the District will compensate the employee at not less than fifty percent (50%) of the eligible employee's regular salary (reference Education Code #45196). Extended leave must be on the basis of a recognized medical doctor's statement.
Sick Leaves. 10.02-1 Each full-time teacher shall receive four (4) days of sick leave as of the first day of employment of the current contract year, and thereafter shall be credited with one
(1) additional day of sick leave at the end of each month of employment to a maximum of ten (10) days for ten (10) month teachers, eleven (11) days for eleven
Sick Leaves. Adult Education unit members shall be credited with one (1) hour of sick leave for every 18 hours of contracted service on an unlimited accumulated basis. A separate hourly sick leave bank will be established separate and apart from any other bank of days of sick leave to which the unit member may be entitled.
Sick Leaves. All employees will be granted sick leave as per Section 5/24-6 of the Illinois School Code.
A. Those employees working less than a full day will receive the appropriate number of days of a length equal to their day.
B. Those employees working fewer than one hundred seventy six (176) days will receive a prorated number of days based on twelve (12).
C. Employees working one hundred seventy-six (176) days and beyond will receive sick leave days in the following amounts: 176 – 189 work days 12 sick days 190 –209 work days 13 sick days 210 or more work days 14 sick days
D. For purposes of claiming sick leave pay in full day or half day increments, the statement “personal illness” shall be sufficient but with the further understanding that this administrative procedure does not limit or impede the SESE Board’s right to require a physician’s certificate as a basis of pay for personal illness in accordance with Section 5/24-6 of the Illinois School Code which includes parents, spouse, brothers, sisters, children, grandparents, grandchildren, parents-in-law, brother-in-law, sister-in-law, and legal guardians. The definition of immediate family shall be expanded to also include aunt, uncle, niece, nephew, and grandparents-in-law, children-in-law, son-in-law, daughter-in-law. Sick days may also be used in the case of death of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, grandparents-in-law, children-in-law, son-in-law, and daughter-in-law.
E. The SESE Board shall furnish each employee with a written statement at the beginning of each employee work year setting forth the total sick leave credit.
F. South Eastern Special Education is subject to the Illinois Workers’ Compensation Act (820 ILCS 305/1) and the Occupational Diseases Act (820 ILCS 310/1). If an employee is injured while in the course of their employment, he/she may file a claim for benefits under Worker’s Compensation by adhering to the procedures set forth by law, as well as by the policies and procedures adopted by the Board and/or Director. Subject to compensability determination by the Worker’s Compensation carrier, Total Temporary Disability (TTD) benefits may be paid to the injured employee who needs to be absent from work to recover from a work-related injury or illness. The employee is entitled to collect TTD benefits until he/she is able to return to work that is reasonably available to him or her. Sick Leaves. 8.1 Administrators shall be granted annually seventeen (17) days of sick leave with full pay. There shall be no maximum sick leave accumulation for administrators hired into the bargaining unit prior to July 1, 2005. For administrators hired into the bargaining unit on or after July 1, 2005, the maximum sick leave accumulation shall be equal to the total number of work days in the administrator’s work year. Any administrator promoted from a teaching position in the District shall be credited for unused sick days accumulated during his/her teaching service.
Sick Leaves. (a) Definition. Sick leave is hereby defined to mean the absence from his post or duty of any Employee because of personal disability due to illness, injury or exclusion from school by the school districts medical authority on account of contagious disease.
