Security Classification Levels. (1) The Parties agree on the equivalence of the following security classification levels: XXXXXX GEHEIM SEVIŠĶI SLEPENI TOP SECRET GEHEIM SLEPENI SECRET VERTRAULICH KONFIDENCIĀLI CONFIDENTIAL EINGESCHRÄNKT DIENESTA VAJADZĪBĀM RESTRICTED (2) Classified information to be transmitted shall be marked by the originator with the appropriate security classification level. (3) Classified information generated or reproduced in the course of cooperation under this Agreement shall also be marked in accordance with paragraph 2 of this Article. (4) The security classification level shall only be altered or revoked by the originator. The receiver shall be informed without delay in writing about any alteration or revocation.

Security Classification Levels. (1) Any Classified Information released under this Agreement shall be marked with the appropriate security classification level in accordance with the national laws or regulations of the Parties. (2) The following security classification levels shall be deemed to be equivalent to one another: FOR THE REPUBLIC OF MALTA FOR THE REPUBLIC OF SLOVENIA EQUIVALENT IN ENGLISH (3) For the Republic of Malta, the Maltese and English markings can be used interchangeably. (4) The Originating Party may use additional markings indicating special limitations on the use of Classified Information. (5) The National Security Authorties shall notify one another in accordance with Paragraph 3 of the Article 16 of this Agreement as soon as possible of any amendments to the security classification levels mentioned in Paragraph 2 of this Article.
Security Classification Levels. The originating Participant will assign a security classification level to Classified Information and will mark the Classified Information according to its laws and regulations. The receiving Participant will ensure that Classified Information disclosed by the originating Participant is afforded a level of protection at least equivalent to its national Classified Information of an equivalent security classification level according to Table 1, Table 2 and Table 3. If deemed appropriate, the receiving Participant will ensure that Classified Information disclosed by the originating Participant is marked with a security classification level that, according to Table 1, Table 2 and Table 3, is at least equivalent to the security classification level assigned by the originating Participant. These are the terms used by each Participant to designate equivalent security classification levels for Classified Information: After approval by the Participants, the exchange of TOP SECRET/TRÈS SECRET/SEVIŠĶI SLEPENI information will be considered on a case-by-case basis. The Republic of Latvia will protect Canadian Protected Information at the security classification level identified in the following table: After approval by the Participants, the exchange of PROTECTED C/ PROTÉGÉ C information will be considered on a case-by-case basis. PROTECTED B/PROTÉGÉ B information will be afforded a level of protection as KONFIDENCIĀLI information; however, Canadian contracts involving PROTECTED B/PROTÉGÉ B information that is provided to the Latvian Contractors will include appropriate contract clauses informing the recipient of the minimum security requirements for the protection and handling of this information. There is no requirement for an FSC and PSC at the level of KONFIDENCIĀLI to access PROTECTED B/PROTÉGÉ B information. Canadian contracts involving PROTECTED A/PROTÉGÉ A information that is provided to the Latvian Contractors will include appropriate contract clauses informing the recipient of the minimum security requirements for the protection and handling of this information. Canada will protect Latvian DIENESTA VAJADZĪBĀM Information at the security classification level identified in the following table: Latvian contracts involving DIENESTA VAJADZĪBĀM information that is provided to the Canadian Contractors will include appropriate contract clauses informing the recipient of the minimum security requirements for the protection and handling of this information.
