Selection of Work Assignment. On an annual basis, a location shake-up shall occur for both the Lieutenant and Sergeant classifications. Schedules for the work location, including shift and days off shall be posted thirty (30) calendar days prior to the effective deployment period. Employees will bid in order of classification seniority for their work location, which is currently recognized as Gateway, shift and days off. Thirty (30) calendar days prior to the shake-up, advance copies of the bid sheets will be sent by Operations Manpower to AFSCME for review. Copies of the completed bid sheets will be sent to AFSCME. In the event the location is not fully staffed at the time of the annual shake-up, management shall determine the shift assignments to be posted for bid. Prior to the assignment of an additional employee to the location, the available shift assignments shall be posted and the incumbent employees shall re-bid their shifts. The incoming employee will be assigned to the remaining open shift. Nothing herein, as provided in Section 30.5 Selection of Work Assignment, shall be construed to prevent management from temporarily reassigning an employee to receive or provide training or remediation to resolve a job performance problem.
