– Seniority – Definitions and Rights a. Seniority is defined as length of continuous active service as a teacher with the District from the most recent date of employment as a regular full-time teacher [thirty (30) or more hours per week]. In order to accrue seniority under this Section, a teacher must have a continuing contract with the District pursuant to M.S. 122A.40. Effective July 1, 1981, teachers awarded Substitute Teaching Contracts subject to M.S. 122A.40 by virtue of M.S 122A.44 shall be eligible to accrue seniority during the term of such contract. Teachers shall not accrue seniority during their probationary period of employment as defined by M.S. 122A.40. Upon completion of the probationary period, seniority shall then be credited to the teacher retroactive to the teacher's date of hire, pursuant to the provisions of this Section.
