Teaching Contracts. Except in regard to employees who have attained continuing contract status elsewhere, the initial limited contract offered to employees new to the Monroe Local School District, except employees hired to fill vacancies occurring during the school year, or as substitute employees, shall be for a term of one (1) school year. Employees hired during the school year to fill vacancies may be offered contracts for the remaining of the school year.
Teaching Contracts. The provisions of the Michigan Teacher Tenure Act shall be followed for all teacher contracts where such Act is applicable.

Teaching Contracts. After finalizing negotiations, the Board will prepare individual teacher's contracts to be signed on or before the first day of classes or as soon as possible before October 1st. Payroll step increase shall be added to the first payroll.

Teaching Contracts. 1. Only a teacher who meets the criteria set forth in ORC 3319.08 may be offered a continuing contract. Persons eligible for a continuing service contract must submit a written request for consideration for a continuing contract along with supporting documentation on or before October 1 of the last year in which they are eligible. If the request or documentation is not received by October 1, the teacher will have to wait until the following school year to be considered for a continuing contract, unless the restriction is waived by the Superintendent.
2. Temporary Certificate/License No teacher on a temporary certificate/license may be given more than a one- year limited contract under any circumstances.
3. Contract Track The normal schedule of awarding contracts to teachers will be as follows:
a. One-year contract for first year at Monroeville Local Schools.
b. One-year contract for the second year at Monroeville Local Schools.
c. One-year contract for the third year at Monroeville Local Schools if hired after July 1, 2017.
d. Two-year contracts beginning the fourth year at Monroeville Local Schools unless reasons are given for a one-year contract.
Teaching Contracts. The contractual term of employment shall be as follows:
A. A newly employed teacher shall receive a one (1) year limited contract which shall be followed by a one (1) or two (2) year limited contract if his or her contract is renewed.
B. A teacher who has been employed for three (3) or more years shall receive, upon expiration of his or her contract, a one-(1) year, two-(2) year, three-(3) year, or five (5) year limited contract if his or her contract is renewed. Two (2) or three (3) year contracts shall be issued to teachers whose appraiser's ratings are generally 2.5 to 3.24. Teaching Contracts. 1. The member contract and notification of appointment shall be issued to members no later than May 25. Said contract shall contain the following information:
a. Name of member
b. Type of contract (limited, continuing or annual notice of salary)
c. School year
d. Base Salary – semi-monthly and annual
e. Number of Pay Periods
f. Statement of Salary Classification
g. Any specific remarks applicable to this contract.
2. Teachers who have obtained continuing contract status in another school district:
a. initially will be offered a one (1) year limited contract;
b. upon successful completion of the initial contract will be offered a second one (1) year limited contract or a continuing contract at the discretion of the Board.
3. Teachers who have not obtained tenure in another school district:
a. initially will be offered a one (1) year contract;
b. upon successful completion of this contract will be eligible for another one (1) year contract;
c. upon successful completion of this contract will be eligible for a two (2) year limited contract;
d. upon successful completion of this contract will be eligible for limited contracts of five (5) years.
4. A teacher, becoming eligible for a continuing contract during the term of any limited contract, shall be considered at the succeeding April Board Meeting for continuing contract status if he or she has met all of the requirements of Section 3319.11 Ohio Revised Code.
5. Teachers not possessing a valid teacher's certificate or license shall be ineligible to teach in the district and such lack shall be deemed just cause for dismissal. Teachers possessing a one (1) year temporary or a two (2) year vocational certificate or license are only eligible for one (1) year limited contracts.
6. All employees must participate in direct deposit and direct deposit notice will be sent electronically.
