Seniority Definition. Seniority is the Layoff Service Date which is the date the employee began state service (except as a temporary appointee) as adjusted for break(s)-in-service. (See Letter of Agreement 70.00-09-179 in Appendix A).
Seniority Definition. Seniority shall be defined as continuous service from date of original appointment to a full-time bargaining unit classification regardless of teaching assignment. All leaves of absence will be used in computing the length of service.
Seniority Definition. Seniority shall be defined as the length of the employee's continuous service with the Clinton County Sheriff’s Office commencing with the last date of hire. The application of seniority shall be limited to the preferences specifically recited in this Agreement. Employees transferred into the bargaining unit from other positions in the County will retain their seniority for the purpose of computing pension, accrued sick leave, vacation accrual, vacation accumulation and longevity only. For all other purposes, bargaining unit seniority will prevail.
Seniority Definition. (a) Seniority shall, for the purpose of this Agreement, mean continuous employment with this Board and its predecessor Boards. Seniority shall apply only to the members of the Local Elementary and Secondary Bargaining Units since the most recent date of hire.
(b) A redundant teacher who maintains a position on the recall list shall be deemed to have had continuous employment for seniority purposes.
Seniority Definition. Seniority shall be defined to mean the length of the employee’s continuous service with the City of Kentwood commencing from the last date of hire. The application of seniority shall be limited to the preferences recited in this Agreement.
Seniority Definition. Each employee shall accumulate or lose seniority as follows:
(a) While on probation, employees shall not acquire seniority. Upon completion of probation, employees shall receive seniority credits retroactive to the date of employment.
(b) Seniority shall be measured by the number of longevity credits as defined in Article VII, 7.07. Seniority shall be determined within rank and by date of promotion within such rank.
(c) Seniority shall be terminated and lost when:
1) an employee resigns, retires or is discharged for just cause;
2) the employee fails to respond to a recall from lay off in accordance with Article V, 5.02.
(d) Choice of work shifts as openings occur and vacation shall be by seniority.
Seniority Definition. Seniority shall mean all of a nurse’s length of service with the Employer as a member of the bargaining unit from the most recent date of hire as a registered or resident nurse. Seniority shall not apply to a nurse until completion of the probationary period as defined in this contract. Upon satisfactory completion of this probationary period, the nurse shall be credited with seniority from the most recent date of hire as a registered or resident nurse.
Seniority Definition. Seniority shall be defined as length of continuous service in the employ of the Board as defined below. Unless stated otherwise elsewhere in this agreement. Seniority will not accumulate during periods of unpaid leaves or layoff.
Seniority Definition. For the purposes of administering the seniority provisions contained in this Agreement including layoff and recall, job openings and eligibility for benefits, seniority shall be by individual bargaining units. The bargaining units are those described in Section 1.0 of this Agreement. Seniority shall be defined as the length of the employee's continuous service within the bargaining unit wherein the employee is employed commencing from the employee's last date of hire, provided that seniority for fringe benefit purposes shall be based upon the last day of hire with the County; seniority for pay purposes shall be by classification on a County-wide basis. The parties to this Agreement have initialed a seniority roster of all bargaining unit members. It is the intention of the parties that the amount of seniority that each bargaining unit member has prior to the date of this Agreement be continued and added to for service during the life of this Agreement.
Seniority Definition. (a) Company Seniority shall mean length of continuous service with the Employer.
(b) Full-time employee, for the purpose of seniority, shall mean an employee who has worked an average of thirty-six (36) hours per week during a thirteen (13) consecutive week period. All other employees will be considered part-time.
(c) Part-time employees shall proceed to full-time status according to their rights under the Collective Agreement.
(d) For purposes of clarification, any employee who moves from one classification to another classification under the terms of the collective agreement will retain their full seniority.
