Seniority Defined definition

Seniority Defined. City seniority means an employee's length of continuous service with the City since the employee's last date of hire. Classification seniority shall mean the length of continuous service in a single classification (i.e. Sergeant) within the classification series (Police) beginning with the date of appointment into that classification with the City (commonly referred to as “time in grade”). Notwithstanding the paragraph above; seniority time shall be prorated to reflect those periods of absence due to unpaid leave of absence or suspension.
Seniority Defined. For the purpose of this Agreement, “seniority” shall be defined as an employee’s total length of continuous service at the hotel identified in terms of his date of hire within his department. In addition, employees will maintain “classification seniority”. Classification seniority shall be defined as an employee’s total length of continuous service in their current classification identified in terms of the date when the employee began working in the classification. Use of Seniority: Department Seniority is used to determine the order of layoff and recall within a classification within a particular department. Classification seniority is used for preference for scheduled blocks of shifts within a classification with a particular department. Service and Vacation Entitlement: Annual vacation entitlement will be determined by the employee’s total years of service in the hotel, and the employee shall be granted holidays according to that established service. Seniority in More Than One Classification within a Department: In order to provide experience to employees in another classification within the same Department and in order to maximize hours up to a maximum of forty (40) hours per week, employees may select, in order of seniority, to work certain days in their weekly block of shifts in another classification in the same department, provided that the employee possesses the minimum skill and ability to perform the full measure of the work required. An employee working both classifications will continue to accumulate seniority in their current position and will begin to accumulate seniority in the new position. Once each year, on January all employees working in more than one classification, shall declare in which classification seniority shall be assigned to for the next year. Should the employee select to apply their seniority in the new classification, then seniority for classification purposes shall begin from the date first worked in the new classification.
Seniority Defined. Seniority means an employee’s continuous length of service within a classification (e.g., med tech ASCP, imaging tech, etc., under the professional/technical unit; plant, xxxx clerk, etc., under the service/maintenance unit; RHIT, med. transcript, etc., under the business office and medical records unit -- see Article 1 and Appendix A) within a unit (e.g., the professional/technical unit, the service/maintenance unit, and the business office and medical records unit) within a department. Length of service is based upon hours of pay from the most recent date of hire as a regular employee within a classification within a unit. Seniority does not apply until the employee has completed the required probationary period. Upon satisfactory completion of this probationary period, the employee shall be credited with seniority from most recent date of hire as a regular employee.

Examples of Seniority Defined in a sentence

  • When a casual employee is hired into a regular position, the total hours worked will be converted and credited as seniority in accordance with Clause 12.1 (Seniority Defined) and as continuous service for the purposes of Clause 18.1 (Annual Vacation Entitlement).

  • Base Rate Term SOFR Determination Day has the meaning specified in the definition of “Term SOFR”.

  • Market Disruption Event means either of the following events as determined by the Calculation Agent:

  • Priority area means the portions of the qualified incentive area

  • Term SOFR Reference Rate means the forward-looking term rate based on SOFR.
