Set Objectives and Targets. The plan needs to establish and maintain environmental objectives and targets that are measurable (whenever possible), and the time frame set up to achieve them. Generally this means that when setting these objectives, the facility needs to include objectives designed to assure compliance with applicable federal, state or local environmental regulations, Critical Management Programs (identified in Appendix B), potential significant environmental impacts, technological options, financial, operational, and business requirements, and the views of local stakeholders. The objectives and targets also need to be consistent with the commitments contained in the producer s environmental policy, including the commitment to comply with applicable Federal, state, and local environmental requirements.
