Setting New Pay Rates. Upon reclassification to a higher rated job, the employee shall be paid at the next higher rate of pay on the new schedule and shall progress on that schedule on normal progression dates. Employees who are granted a job within the same wage schedule shall continue to progress in the wage schedule on normal progression dates. Employees who are granted a lower rated job will receive the appropriate rate of pay in the lower wage schedule on normal progression dates.

The Company agrees to grant scheduled wage increases specified in their appropriate schedules in accordance with the time intervals and amounts provided in such schedules, subject to the following conditions: 1. Wage progression increases will be effective based on the service anniversary date for active, full time employees and based on date last given for part time employees after the employee has worked 1040 hours. 2. Wage increases will be effective the first day of the pay period closest to the effective date of the increase.

  • RATES FOR NEW JOBS When a new job is placed in a unit and cannot be properly placed in an existing classification, the Employer will notify the Union prior to establishing a classification and rate structure. In the event the Union does not agree that the description and rate are proper, it shall be subject to negotiation. The Employer will consult with the Union as to whether or not such new job is within the bargaining unit.

  • Accrual of Seniority Seniority shall accrue during: (a) the first one hundred and nineteen (119) calendar days of sick leave including time on E.I. sick benefit or Income Replacement Benefits under the Automobile Insurance Act; (b) unpaid leaves of absence up to and including one hundred and sixty-eight (168) work hours in a calendar year; (c) hours absent while receiving benefits from the Worker’s Compensation Board; (d) temporary positions, out-of-scope of any union, with the Employer not to exceed twelve (12) months unless extended by mutual agreement with the union; (e) bereavement leave, pressing necessity leave, family responsibility leave, medical care leave; (f) jury duty and court service; (g) vacation leave; (h) leave for elected Public Office; (i) union leave; (j) all maternity/paternity/adoption/parental leave; (k) education leave up to twenty-four (24) months. (l) Long-term disability or Income Replacement Benefits under the Automobile Insurance Act. (m) If an Employee’s hours of work are reduced due to a disability, full-time Employees shall maintain their pre- disability accrual rate.   • Opening Negotiations 4.2.1 Between April 1 and April 30 of each ensuing year, either the Association or the Board shall submit a written request for negotiations to commence to the other party, if it desires there to be negotiations for that year. If no such request is made during the time period above, negotiations will not take place for the ensuing year. 4.2.2 The first negotiations session shall occur on a mutually agreeable date not more than thirty (30) days from the date of the written request to open negotiations. 4.2.3 The parties will exchange proposals at the initial negotiating session. Subsequent proposals may only be submitted upon mutual agreement of the parties.
