Settling of Grievances. An xxxxxxx effort Should any difference arise between the persons bound by this Agreement concerning its interpretation, application, operation or alleged violation thereof, there shall be made to process and settle grievances fairly and promptly no stoppage of work on account of such a difference. (b) Step 2:
(i) Failing settlement under Step 1, the time it was first discussed grievance shall be submitted in writing to the division senior manager or designate within seven (7) calendar days of the Step 1 response.
(ii) The division senior manager or designate concerned shall meet with the Employee’s immediate Supervisorgrievor, the Employee may proceed to Step 1 Shop Xxxxxxx and/or a representative of the grievance procedureUnion. The parties agree that reasonable effort will be taken to ensure the meeting occurs within twenty-one (21) calendar days of receipt of written notice.
Step 1 Failing satisfactory settlement at the complaint stage the Union may present the grievance to the appropriate Supervisor (iii) The division senior manager or designate shall respond in writing stating reasons within seven (7) calendar days following the decision at hearing.
(c) Step 3:

(ii) The grievance City Manager or designate shall be respond in writing on a mutually approved form and shall include the nature of the grievance, the redress sought and the section or sections of the agreement that are alleged to have been violated. The Supervisor shall deliver his/her decision in writing stating reasons within seven (7) calendar days following the presentation of the grievance to him/herhearing.
(d) Step 2 Failing 4:
(i) If a satisfactory settlement is not reached at Step 13, the Union may present the grievance to the Administratorshall, or designate, in writing within thirty-seven (7) calendar days following receipt of the decision at Step 1. A meeting will be held within seven (7) calendar days from receipt of the grievance between the Administrator, or designate, and the Union. The decision of the Administrator, or designate, shall be delivered in writing within seven (737) calendar days of the meetingStep 3 hearing date advise whether the matter is to proceed to Arbitration as set out in Article 11.

The Mediator shall not have the power to change this Agreement or to alter, modify or amend any of its provisions.
iii. The expenses of the Mediator shall be equally borne by both parties.
b) Failing a satisfactory settlement being reached in Step 3, the Union may, on giving ten (10) working days notice in writing to the employer of its intention, refer the grievance dispute to arbitration. A copy of the Union written notice to the employer of its intent to refer the dispute to arbitration within thirty (30) calendar days following receipt of the decision at Step 2shall be forwarded to Human Resource Services.

The grievance shall be in writing on a mutually approved form and shall include the nature of the grievance, the redress sought and the section or sections of the agreement that are alleged to have been violated. The UNION Grievance Committee shall submit in writing the matter to the Departmental Manager within five (5) working days and he shall attempt to settle the matter immediately within five (5) working days.
Step 3 If the decision of the Departmental Manager is not acceptable to the UNION Grievance Committee and the grievor, the grievance shall be referred to the Administrator, or designate, Departmental Director in writing within seven five (75) calendar working days following of the receipt of the decision at answer in Step 1. A meeting will be held within seven (7) calendar days from receipt of the grievance between the Administrator, or designate, and the Union2. The decision of Departmental Director shall meet with the Administrator, or designate, UNION Grievance Committee within five (5) working days to review the grievance. The Departmental Director shall be delivered in writing reply within seven five (75) calendar working days of following the meeting.
Step 3 4 Failing satisfactory settlement being reached at Step 23, if both parties mutually agree, the grievance shall be submitted to the Department of Labour, Conciliation Services Section for Grievance Mediation. Time limits shall be suspended during this process. Any discussions by the parties, or recommendations of the Mediator shall be made without prejudice to any further proceedings. Any recommendation made by the Mediator shall not be binding on either party; and either party may refer shall retain the right to proceed to arbitration failing a satisfactory resolution to the grievance to arbitration within thirty (30) calendar days following receipt of the decision at Step 2through Mediation.

Settling of Grievances. (a) An xxxxxxx effort shall be made to process settle complaints and settle grievances fairly and promptly in the following manner: It Prior to formally initiating a written grievance, it is agreed understood that an Employee has no grievance until hethe employee must first have brought the issue/she has first given complaint to his/her immediate Supervisor an opportunity to adjust his/her complaint CEO or designate. The employee, accompanied by the Union representative, shall take the matter up verbally with the CEO or designate within fourteen nine (149) calendar working days of its occurrence the date upon which the employee(s) first became aware, or when they ought to should have become aware of itthe facts giving rise to the complaint. The Employee may request to meet with their Supervisor and is permitted to have a co-worker from their department present at the meeting. Prior approval is required to attend the meeting. The Employee has the option of making a CEO or designate will give his/her written submission as an alternative decision to the meetingXxxxxxx within six (6) days of receipt of the grievance. (b) All grievances must be in writing with a sentence explaining the violation of the Collective Agreement, noting the Clause(s) violated and the redress sought. Replies to grievances stating reason(s) grievance procedureis denied, or settled, shall be in writing at all stages.
(c) The aggrieved employee(s) shall submit the grievance to his/her Xxxxxxx.
Step 1 Failing satisfactory settlement at the complaint stage the Union may present of the grievance to the appropriate Supervisor within seven (7) calendar days following the decision at the complaint stage, the grievance may be submitted within twelve (12) days of the response from the CEO or designate to the Library Board Chair or designate, at the same time advising what redress is sought.
