Seven-day Machine Counts. Consecutive seven days daily counts provide a full week’s insight into general prevailing intersection/ corridor time of day traffic distribution pattern. These counts will be bi-directional and conducted for typical work week days only. Consultant will recommend duration of AM and PM peak hour timing plans, as well as most advantageous off-peak timing periods based on traffic volume trends generated from these counts. Using a general rule of thumb of conducting one seven (7) days daily counts at about the midpoint mark along a 10 intersection corridor, we estimate a total of nine (9), 7 days daily counts in our study area. The Consultant will recommend locations for placement of proposed seven-day machine counters. Counts will typically not be made on a week that includes a holiday. The Consultant will provide the raw data collected from these seven-day machine counts to the Client in electronic format.

Seven-day Machine Counts. The primary purpose of a seven-day recording count is to determine the traffic flow variation over the course of a full week. This information is needed to determine the number of timing plans that will be needed to accommodate predictable traffic variation and to determine (for the purposes of time-of-day, day-of-week event scheduling) the times of day and days of week during which each such timing plan should be used. The Engineer will make use of the data from 7-day counts made in 2010 for a previous project. Additionally, the Engineer will make up to 4 new 7-day counts at mutually agreed-upon locations. The Engineer will determine the recommended locations for the seven-day counts. Such counts will typically not be made on a week that includes a holiday. The Engineer will provide the raw data collected from the seven-day machine counts to the Client in an electronic format.

  • DNS name server availability Refers to the ability of a public-­‐DNS registered “IP address” of a particular name server listed as authoritative for a domain name, to answer DNS queries from an Internet user.
