Shift and Weekend Premium. (a) Effective July 1, 2019, an employee shall be paid a shift premium of ninety cents (90¢) per hour for each hour worked between the hours of 1500 hours and 0700 hours – not to exceed a 16 hour time period. Effective July 1, 2020, an employee shall be paid a shift premium of ninety-five cents (95¢) per hour for each hour worked between the hours of 1500 hours and 0700 hours – not to exceed a 16 hour time period. Effective July 1, 2020, an employee shall be paid a shift premium of ninety-ninety- five cents (95¢) per hour for each hour worked between the hours of 1500 hours and 0700 hours time period as per existing agreement unless amended in local negotiations – not to exceed a 16 hour time period. (b) Effective July 1, 2019, an employee shall be paid a weekend premium of one dollar and five cents ($1.05) per hour for each hour worked between 2300 hours Friday and 2300 hours Sunday, or such other forty-eight (48) hour period as the local parties may agree upon or as defined in the Collective Agreement. If an employee is receiving premium pay pursuant to a local scheduling regulation with respect to consecutive weekends worked, the employee will not receive weekend premium under this provision.
