Shift Assignments. 1. Choice of shift assignments shall be granted to regular permanent members of the Police Department on the basis of seniority. Once a senior Officer has been granted a shift assignment he/she shall not be granted a change in that assignment for six months (unless a vacancy occurs), or on mutual agreement of all persons affected, with the approval of the Chief of Police.
