Shift Assignments. 1. Shift assignments shall be made in accordance with the needs of the Employer. 2. Seniority shall be considered in assigning employees to desired shift assignments. For purposes of this Article, seniority means continuous length of service in the job class. 3. Neither permanent assignments nor temporary reassignments shall be used as a means of disciplining bargaining unit members. The parties acknowledge that changes in assignment may be appropriate as part of a corrective or investigatory action.
