6.12.05 When moving from one work schedule to another, employees will be provided with at least forty-eight (48) hours notice for a change of start times and at At least seven (7) days notice for alteration of scheduled days on/off for the purpose of bid training. The same will apply to Relief agents following implementation of a new work schedule.
6.12.06 At Airport locations, employees will be permitted to bid into specialized functions once a year and will be scheduled for the required training. Specialized functions include all Ticketing and related support functions (e.g. Concierge Ticketing, Cashiers, Accounting, Ticketing Administration positions), Contracts, Stocking, STOC Connections, and associated relief for all functions mentioned above. Such employees will only be permitted to bid outside of these functions once a full year has elapsed since the start date of their awarded work schedule. However, they will be permitted to bid different shift patterns/bid lines within the same specialized function throughout the year, including any bid line vacancies filled through Article 6.15.
6.12.06.01 The Company shall make every reasonable effort to equitably distribute the assignment of the lobby task/duties amongst the employees assigned to work that function.
6.12.07 In Call Centres, when bidding work schedules for specialized functions, the bid will be open to employees currently working in these functions. An employee requesting to leave a specialized function must provide the Company with a minimum of thirty (30) days written notice prior to the next work schedule commencement of the shift bid.
NOTE 1: In locations where all employees are equally qualified for all functions within that location, all work the Company will determine the staff- ing requirements and will prepare shift schedules, by department, as set out above. Shift schedules will set out the number of jobs, start/stop times, days off and shall be considered vacant posted on the notice board. At the completion of the posting period, employees within the department will be canvassed by seniority within a maximum of seven (7) days of the posting period. Upon completion of the shift bid the new schedule shall commence within fourteen (14) days. Employees within the departments will bid shifts in seniority order. Employees who will be absent at the time of shift bid may leave a memo with the Com- pany, copied to the Union Xxxxxxx(s), advising the shift(s) they wish to bid. If they have not done so or the desired shift is unavailable they will be assigned a shift by Management. The shifts developed will have two (2) consecutive rest days. The requirement for two (2) consecutive rest days will not apply during the execution of a shift change. No Employee shall be adversely affected as to pay or time off (based on the standard work week) when shift schedule bid.
NOTE 2: changes are initiated by the Com- pany. The above does not prevent Company will compute such affect for the period of time the shift schedule was in effect and will credit the Employee at straight time for all time gained as a result of the change. It is recognized that the Company and may change task assignments in order to accommodate operational needs. Where the Union at outcome of the District Level from agreeing on a different process shift bid results in ongoing operational problems, the parties will meet to move into and from a specialized function.discuss alternate arrangements which are con- sistent with the operational requirements of the Company

Shift Bids. 6.12.01 Prior A. Sworn personnel assigned to automating the current line bidding processPatrol Division will pick their shifts by seniority twice each year. Both picks will be for a six-month period. The first shift bid period will begin on or about April 1st, the Company and the Union second will discuss at begin on or about October 1st. The exact dates may vary, due to payroll purposes, but should be no more than 2 weeks before or after the Headquarters Levelaforementioned dates.
6.12.02 Work B. All shift bid picks will begin by mid January and mid July every year, as not to interfere with off-duty detail picks. This allows officers to know their permanent schedules / for the upcoming 6 month period, 1 month prior to the new period beginning (March 1st, and September 1st).
C. For the shift bid lines period beginning April 1st, all sworn Road Patrol personnel will pick their shift, team, and zone assignments by seniority as "open picks." The first round of picks will be bid in seniority order.
6.12.03 The work schedule made by the sergeants, followed by officers. There will be posted 4 rounds of picks for no less than five (5) days.
6.12.04 Implementation of any new work schedule will occur no less than ten (10) days after the bid process is completed. Employees will be provided a copy of their awarded schedule in writing.

Although zones are assigned by seniority, the Chief of Police or his designee may change a zone assignment for reasonable cause. Nothing in this section shall be construed to eliminate management’s rights contained in Article 4.
D. For the required trainingshift bid period beginning October 1st, all sworn Road Patrol personnel will pick their shift and zone assignments by seniority, however, not their team assignment. Specialized functions include all Ticketing and related support functions (e.g. Concierge TicketingIt will not be "open picks". Such employees will only be permitted to bid outside of these functions once a full year has elapsed since the start date of If an opening on their awarded work schedule. Howeversame rotation is not available, they will be permitted placed wherever an opening exists on that shift. During this bid period, officers may only be “bumped” off of their shift - not off of their Team. The only way in which an officer may be placed on the opposite rotation (team) when changing shifts during this period is if the most junior officer being “bumped” off of the entire shift happens to bid different shift patterns/bid lines within be on the same specialized function throughout the year, including any bid line vacancies filled through Article 6.15opposite rotation as that officer.
