Scheduled Overtime. Scheduled overtime is overtime which is assigned by the end of the employee's last worked shift prior to the overtime assignment and which does not immediately precede or immediately follow a scheduled work shift. Unless notified otherwise in advance of the scheduled starting time of the scheduled overtime assignment, any employee who is scheduled to report for work and who reports as scheduled shall be assigned at least two (2) hours work. If work is not available, the employee may be excused from duty and paid for two (2) hours at the employee's appropriate rate. If the employee begins work but is excused from duty before completing two (2) hours of work, the employee shall be paid for two (2) hours at the employee's appropriate rate.
Scheduled Overtime. Scheduled Overtime is defined as work outside of and in addition to an Employee’s regularly scheduled shift scheduled more than twelve (12) hours before the start of scheduled work. Such work is not subject to the two (2) hour minimum.
Scheduled Overtime. Scheduled Overtime shall be defined as all overtime that is known and planned during normal working hours. Scheduled overtime shall operate on a depot basis. The Employer is not obligated to offer scheduled overtime at one depot to employees’ of another depot. When the need for schedule overtime first arises all employees within the classification shall be advised of the scheduled overtime opportunity, subject to Part i)4) outlined below.
Scheduled Overtime. 1. The University will rotate regularly scheduled overtime opportunities among qualified employees in a segment or venue who normally perform the work that is being assigned for overtime and shall offer overtime as soon as it is aware of the need for overtime. Hours worked outside but contiguous to the normal work shift will be credited to the scheduled overtime roster. The roster will not be run for such hours if sufficient employees are on site to complete the job.
2. The overtime roster will be utilized in all situations where Management knows of the overtime opportunity more than four (4) hours in advance.
3. The University agrees to post and maintain overtime rosters in a place accessible to all employees, and to update the rosters after each overtime assignment. Said rosters shall be posted and will include a list of overtime hours worked and refused with overtime awarded to the employee within the segment or venue who, on the roster, has the fewest aggregate hours worked and refused. If an employee on a shift is offered overtime on another shift solely for the purpose of equalizing overtime, the “call in pay” provision does not apply with respect to this Article.
4. An employee who is not available for overtime (on temporary assignment outside the segment/department, on temporary assignment outside the Bargaining Unit, or on leave for more than two (2) weeks) will be charged on the overtime equalization list as if the employee was asked but refused overtime. However, if the employee is on temporary assignment outside the segment/department or on leave for less than two weeks, the employee will not be charged on the overtime equalization list unless the employee was contacted and refused the overtime. In such cases, the University is not obligated to make an offer of overtime.
5. An employee who is offered but refuses an overtime assignment shall be credited as if the employee had worked the overtime for purposes of equalization. (Employee must accept or reject an overtime assignment within 15 minutes of the offer). If an employee is unreachable at the phone number on file with their segment and/or venue, they will be skipped and the opportunity will be offered to the next person on the roster. Scheduled Overtime. If the Employer notifies an employee at or before the end of his regular shift on the preceding regularly scheduled working day before the overtime is to be worked, the Employer shall have the right to require such employee to work the overtime. Employees will be excused from working overtime, if they have an urgent or compelling reason and they shall be expected to give the Employer as much advance notice as is reasonably possible. Scheduled Overtime. Scheduled Overtime shall be defined as assignments that are authorized and performed in excess of regularly scheduled hours and/or shifts and will be made with advance notice. The Employer shall ask for volunteers by seniority and will schedule the work in accordance with Article 21 (e). Where the Employer requires more than those who have volunteered, the most junior Employees within the classification will be required to work the overtime.
Scheduled Overtime. 1. Notification while at work. An employee may be notified of overtime work requirements at any time while they are at work. If the overtime immediately follows their regular working day or shift, no report time or travel time is applicable. If there is less than 15 hours elapsed time between the regular working day or shift and the overtime requirement, a report time of one hour at the applicable rate, which will not be construed as working time, will be paid. Where the overtime does not extend into a regular working day or shift, the one-half hour’s travel time will be paid.
2. Notification while off duty. An employee who is off duty and is given eight or more hours’ notice of an overtime work requirement may be scheduled for overtime work and report time of one hour at the applicable rate, which will not be construed as working time, will be paid. Where the overtime does not extend into a regular working day or shift, the one-half hour’s travel time will be paid. The only exception regarding the eight hours’ notification requirement will be for Station Operators where relief is required for illness, and in such cases a minimum of four hours’ notification is required. The minimum amount of overtime pay for Station Operators relieving under the above conditions shall be four hours at the prevailing rate and seven and one-half hours for any period of work between four and seven and one-half hours.
3. Where there is need for regular scheduled overtime periods immediately prior to the regular working day or shift for five or more consecutive working days, report time shall not be applicable in such cases.
