Common use of Shift Exchange - Operating Employees Clause in Contracts

Shift Exchange - Operating Employees. Provided sufficient advance notice is given and with the approval of the Company, employees may exchange shifts if there is no increase in cost to the Company. Such approval shall not be unreasonably withheld. Employees may shift exchange with themselves in accordance with the following parameters: 1. The employee shall make every reasonable effort to provide a minimum of twenty-four (24) hours advance notice of the requested shift change. 2. The new shift to be worked needs to be meaningful to NAV CANADA. As such, it must be at a time where work is necessary to be completed and/or where shift coverage is required. 3. The shift change shall not require any additional payment of overtime, shift change premium or time off in lieu. 4. The requested shift change shall not result in an impact that is adverse to the operation. 5. The employee requesting a shift exchange shall be responsible for arranging the replacement for their vacated shift if NAV CANADA determines it is required. 6. The new shift shall be worked within forty eight (48) hours of the traded shift. 7. The shift worked and the corresponding time off shall be completed in the current published schedule and shift cycle. 8. Once the shift exchange is approved by NAV CANADA, the employee shall not be authorized to take discretionary leave on this day.
