Shift Extension. A shift extension opportunity is defined as an extension of the regular shift (for those individuals at work on their regularly scheduled shift), such that the total hours worked do not exceed 16 in any 24 hour period. A shift extension could be before or after the regular shift. The Company will make every reasonable effort to schedule employees the working day before or as early in the shift to be extended, as practical. Employees not at work for any reason when the overtime opportunity is offered and have not called prior to the start of the shift will not be given the opportunity to work overtime and will be charged.
