Overtime and Holiday Work. ‌ (Refer to Personnel Rules Section 3.11.070) A. Overtime work may be required of any employee in order to meet special or unusual needs of service beneficial to the city and community. Overtime is defined as the paid time in excess, and as an extension, of the normal schedule of work hours as illustrated below: Eight hours per day, five Over forty hours per week Saturday - days per week (5/8 plan) Friday Ten hours per day, four Over forty hours per week Saturday - days per week (4/10 plan) Friday Flex 40 schedule Over 40 hours per week Saturday- Friday Twenty-four hours per shift Over twenty-four hours per shift (56 hour work week) for shift extensions (see subsection “F”)
Overtime and Holiday Work. Except as otherwise provided in this article time worked in excess of the regularly assigned hours established by Article hereof shall be paid for to the next nearest quarter hour at the rate of one and one half (1 times the regular rate. All time worked between midnight and a.m. shall be paid at double the regular rate. Any employee called for a midnight start will be guaranteed a minimum of eight hours pay at the premium rate.   • Weekend Holidays 9.3.1. A full-time employee who works a Monday through Friday schedule and the calendar holiday falls on a Saturday, the employee shall be allowed the preceding day off. When a holiday falls on a Sunday, the employee shall be allowed the following day off. If the employee works the day preceding or following such a holiday, he/she shall be given another workday off with pay or shall receive payment for that day at the regular rate. 9.3.2.   • Sunday Work Employees required to work overtime on Sundays shall be paid for a minimum of three hours work at double time. The double time is to be paid until the employee is relieved from duty.
