Common use of SHIFTS AND SHIFT PREMIUMS Clause in Contracts

SHIFTS AND SHIFT PREMIUMS. 7.01 Should afternoon and/or night shifts become necessary, the hours of work shall be between the quitting time and the starting time of the day shifts. A minimum of five (5) full days’ notice, except in the case of extenuating circumstances*, will be given each employee required to change shifts (* press breakdown, to meet production deadlines, delivery date change by the customer). 7.02 Shift premium for afternoon and night shifts will be based on the regular rate plus 7½% (seven and one-half percent).
