Common use of Shifts; Lunch Periods; Rest Periods Clause in Contracts

Shifts; Lunch Periods; Rest Periods. Each employee shall be assigned to a definite shift with designated times of beginning and ending. All shifts shall be an eight (8) hour and thirty (30) minute period, which shall include a thirty (30) minute unpaid lunch period. The designated times of beginning each shift during the scheduled workweek shall be: first shift - between 5:00 A.M. and 8:30 A.M.; second shift - between 1:30 P.M. and 6:00 P.M.; third shift - between 10:00 P.M. and 1:30 A.M. of the following day. Each employee shall be given a fifteen (15)-minute rest period in each half of the shift to which he is assigned, the time of starting each such rest period to be designated by the Company. Each employee who is required to report for work two (2) or more hours prior to the start of his regular shift shall receive a ten (10)-minute rest period prior to the start of his regular shift. Each employee who is scheduled to work two (2) or more hours of overtime after his regular shift shall receive a ten (10)-minute rest period prior to the start of the overtime. Changes of shift assignments shall be made on the first day of a new workweek whenever practicable.

Changes of 4 shift assignments shall be made on the first day of a new workweek whenever practicable.. 5

The designated times of beginning each shift during the 20 scheduled workweek shall be: first shift - between 5:00 A.M. and 8:30 A.M.9:30am.; second 21 shift - between 1:30 P.M. and 6:00 P.M.; third shift - shift-between 10:00 P.M. 9:00pm. and 1:30 A.M. 22 of the following day. Each employee shall be given a fifteen (15)-minute 15) minute rest period 23 in each half of the shift to which he is assigned, the time of starting each such rest 24 period to be designated by the Company.
