Common use of Shop Stewards Clause in Contracts

Shop Stewards. The Employer agrees to the operation of a Shop ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ system which shall be governed by the following: (a) Shop Stewards may be appointed by the Union to a maximum of three (3) plus one (1) alternate Shop ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ for the Bargaining Unit as a whole. (b) The Employer is to be kept advised of all Shop ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ appointments. (c) One (1) Shop ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇, or Union Committee member, shall be appointed by the Union as Chief Shop ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ who may present or assist in the presentation of any grievance. (d) When the absence of more than one (1) Shop ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ or Union Committee member shall interfere with the Employer's operation, then no more than one (1) Shop ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ or Union Committee member shall be given leave of absence to transact Union business at any one time. (e) When a Shop ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ or Union Committee member is the only employee on duty in a work area and where his/her absence would unduly interfere with the Employer's operation, then the Shop ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ may be refused leave of absence to transact Union business.

(d) When the absence of more than one (1) Shop ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ or Union Committee member shall unduly interfere with the Employer's operation’s operations, then no more than one (1) Shop ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ or Union Committee member shall be given leave of absence to transact Union business at any one time. (e) When a Shop ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ or Union Committee member is the only employee on duty in a work area and where his/her their absence would unduly interfere with the Employer's operation’s operations, then the such Shop ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ or Union Committee member may be refused leave of absence to transact Union business.
