Common use of Shop Stewards Clause in Contracts

Shop Stewards. (a) The Union shall appoint from among the employees, and the Employer shall recognize, Shop Stewards in each of the Employer's operations. The duties of the Shop Xxxxxxx shall be to assist in the reporting and resolution of all grievances as well as disseminating bona fide information of the Union to the employees. (b) The Employer agrees to recognize a duly appointed or elected Shop Xxxxxxx provided that the Union has first advised the Employer in writing of the name of the employee so appointed. The Union agrees to advise the Employer in writing of any changes made by appointment or election from time to time. (c) The Shop Xxxxxxx'x first obligation is the fulfillment of their responsibilities as an employee. During their working hours, the Shop Xxxxxxx is not entitled to engage in Union activities other than the necessary involvement in the reporting and resolution of grievances. (d) The Union Xxxxxxx must not leave their assigned work area on Union business, without prior permission. Such permission will not be unreasonably withheld. (e) The necessary time which is spent by Stewards during their regular working hours in reporting and resolving grievances, or in attending meetings specifically provided for herein, shall be considered to be time worked. (f) Under no circumstances shall a Xxxxxxx take any action or issue any instruction which will interfere with the operation or affairs of the Employer, or with the management of or direction of the work force. (g) The Shop Xxxxxxx shall not be discriminated against or disciplined for the proper performance of their duties on behalf of the Union.

Shop Stewards. (ai) The Union Company shall appoint from among the employees, and the Employer shall recognize, Shop Stewards in each of the Employer's operations. Accordingly, a xxxxxxx will, with the advance permission of his supervisor, be granted reasonable time during working hours without loss of pay to attend grievance meetings as required under Article 7 hereof or to attend discipline meetings as required under Article 1(f)(iii). A xxxxxxx'x attendance at such meetings shall be subject to operational requirements but a supervisor shall not unreasonably withhold his permission for such attendance. Upon return to work following such attendance a xxxxxxx shall report to his supervisor. (iii) A xxxxxxx may, where an employee so requests, attend any meeting between the employee and management which is for the purpose of issuing discipline, a suspension or discharge of the employee provided the xxxxxxx is readily available in the employee's work location (either Niagara Falls, Fort Erie or Port Colborne). The foregoing shall not apply where the suspension or discharge is not issued in person to the employee. (iv) During the first advised four (4) weeks of his employment the Employer Company shall permit a new employee to meet with a xxxxxxx for up to fifteen (15) minutes during working hours without loss of pay for either the employee or xxxxxxx, for the purpose of obtaining the necessary application for Union membership. The Union will notify the Company in writing of the name names of its members of the employee so appointedabove committees and of the stewards. The Union agrees to advise parties hereto recognize that a strong union with full and active participation on the Employer in writing part of any changes made by appointment or election from time to time. (c) The Shop Xxxxxxx'x first obligation is the fulfillment of their responsibilities as an employee. (b) The Employer agrees to recognize a duly appointed or elected Shop Xxxxxxx provided that the Union has first advised the Employer in writing of the name of the employee so appointed. The Union agrees to advise the Employer in writing of any changes made by appointment or election from time to time. (c) The Shop Xxxxxxx'x first obligation is the fulfillment fulfilment of their responsibilities as an employee. During Stewards and other Union officials will not absent themselves from their working hours, work to deal with grievances without first obtaining permission of the Shop Xxxxxxx is Employer. Permission will not entitled to engage in Union activities other than the necessary involvement in the reporting and resolution of grievancesbe unreasonably withheld. (d) The Union Xxxxxxx must not leave their assigned work area on Union business, without prior permission. Such permission will not be unreasonably withheld. (e) The necessary time which is spent by Stewards during their regular working hours in reporting and resolving grievances, as per (c) above, or in attending meetings specifically provided for herein, shall be considered to be time worked. (f) Under no circumstances shall a Xxxxxxx take any action or issue any instruction which will interfere with the operation or affairs of the Employer, or with the management of or direction of the work force. (g) The Shop Xxxxxxx shall not be discriminated against or disciplined for the proper performance of their duties on behalf of the Union. (h) The Parties agree that there should be one Shop Xxxxxxx in each Department. The absence of such representation shall not result in an undue delay of the proceedings or any added cost to the Employer.

Shop Stewards. (a) The Union shall appoint from among the employees, and the Employer shall recognize, three (3) regular Shop Stewards in each and two (2) alternate Shop Stewards. The Union shall appoint one of the Employer's operationsShop Stewards to be the Chief Shop Xxxxxxx. The duties of the Shop Xxxxxxx Stewards shall be to assist in the reporting and resolution of all grievances as well as disseminating bona fide information of the Union to the employees. (b) The Employer agrees to recognize a duly appointed or elected Shop Xxxxxxx provided that the Union has first advised the Employer in writing of the name of the employee so appointed. The Union agrees to advise the Employer in writing of any changes made by appointment or election from time to time. (c) The Shop Xxxxxxx'x first obligation is the fulfillment of their her responsibilities as an employee. During their her working hours, the Shop Xxxxxxx is not entitled to engage in Union activities other than the necessary involvement in the reporting and resolution of grievances. (d) The Union Shop Xxxxxxx must not leave their her assigned work area on Union business, duties to engage in the activities under paragraph (c) above without prior permission. Such permission will not be unreasonably withheld. (e) The necessary time which is spent by Stewards during their regular working hours in reporting and resolving grievances, or a Shop Xxxxxxx in attending meetings specifically provided for hereina meeting with the Employer, in regard to the reporting or resolution of a grievance, shall be considered to be time worked. The timing of such a meeting shall be mutually agreed to between the Employer and the Shop Xxxxxxx. Time outside the employees regularly scheduled shift fulfilling the duties of a xxxxxxx shall be at straight time. (f) Under no circumstances shall a Xxxxxxx take any action or issue any instruction which will interfere with the operation or affairs of the Employer, or with the management of or direction of the work force. (g) The Shop Xxxxxxx shall not be discriminated against or disciplined for the proper performance of their her duties on behalf of the Union.

Shop Stewards. (a) The Union shall is entitled to appoint or elect from among the employeesemployees in the bargaining unit, up to seven (7) Union Stewards to a maximum two (2) from each shift and one (1) in the Employer shall recognize, Shop Stewards maintenance department (preferably from different departments) who are employed and represent employees in each of the Employer's operationsbargaining unit. The duties of the Shop Xxxxxxx Union Stewards shall be to assist in the include assisting in, reporting and resolution of all resolving grievances as well as disseminating bona fide information of the Union to the employeeswithin their departments. (b) An employee will not be eligible to act as a Xxxxxxx until after he or she has completed the probationary period. (c) The Employer agrees to recognize a each duly appointed or elected Shop Union Xxxxxxx provided that the Union has first advised the Employer in writing of the name of the employee so appointed. The Union agrees to advise the Employer in writing of any changes made by appointment or election from time to time. (cd) The Shop Xxxxxxx'x Union Xxxxxxx’x first obligation is the fulfillment of their responsibilities his or her responsibility as an employee. During their his or her working hours, the Shop Union Xxxxxxx is not entitled to engage in Union activities other than the necessary involvement in the reporting and resolution of grievances. (de) The Union Xxxxxxx must not leave their his or her assigned work area on Union business, business without prior permission. Such permission will not be unreasonably withheld. (ef) The necessary time which is spent by Union Stewards during their regular working hours in reporting and resolving grievances, or in attending meetings specifically provided for herein, shall be considered to be time worked. (fg) Under no circumstances shall a Union Xxxxxxx take any action or issue any instruction instructions which will interfere with the operation operations or affairs of the Employer, or with the management of or direction of the work forceworkforce. (gh) The Shop Xxxxxxx Union Stewards shall not be discriminated against or disciplined for the proper performance of or their duties on behalf of the Union. (i) The Employer agrees the Union Xxxxxxx letter and official communications from the Union to its members shall be posted on staff bulletin boards. (j) At any meeting in which an employee will be disciplined or subject to questioning by management, the employee will have the right to have a Union Xxxxxxx present. The employee shall have the option of selecting a Xxxxxxx that is at work to attend the meetings, if available.

(f) Under no circumstances shall a Union Xxxxxxx take any action or issue any instruction which will interfere with the operation operations or affairs of the Employer, or with the management of or direction of the work force. (g) The Shop Xxxxxxx Employer and the Union agree that no person shall not be discriminated intimidate, coerce, im- pose any pecuniary or other penalty on, or otherwise discriminate against any person because that person exercises or disciplined for seeks to exercise any right under the proper performance of their duties on behalf collective agreement, or complains, gives evidence or otherwise assists in re- spect of the Unioninitiation or prosecution of a grievance or other proceeding under this collective agreement.

(e) The necessary time which is spent by Stewards during their regular working hours in reporting and resolving grievances, or in attending meetings specifically provided for herein, shall be considered to be time worked. (f) Under no circumstances shall a Xxxxxxx take any action or issue any instruction instruction, which will interfere with the operation or affairs of the Employer, or with the management of or direction of the work force. (g) The Shop Xxxxxxx shall not be discriminated against or disciplined for the proper performance of their his/her duties on behalf of the Union. (h) The Employer agrees that the Shop Xxxxxxx may post official communications from the Union to its members on the employees’ bulletin boards within the hotel. (i) No employee or group of employees shall undertake to represent the Union at meetings with the Employer without the proper authorization of the Union. To implement this, the Union shall supply the Employer with the names of its representatives and similarly, the Employer shall supply the Union with a list of its supervisory or other personnel with whom the Union may be required to transact business.

Shop Stewards. (a) The Union shall appoint from among Employer recognizes the employees, and the Employer shall recognize, Shop Stewards in each of the Employer's operations. The duties of the Shop Xxxxxxx shall be to assist in the reporting and resolution of all grievances as well as disseminating bona fide information right of the Union to designate stewards and Alternates from the employees.Employer's seniority list if needed. An Alternate can act only in the absence of a designated Xxxxxxx. The authority of Shop Stewards and Alternates so designated by the Union shall be limited to and shall not exceed the following duties and activities: (b) 1. the investigation and presentation of grievances in accordance with the provisions of the collective bargaining agreement; 2. the collection of dues when authorized by appropriate Local Union action; 3. the transmission of such messages and information which shall originate with, and are authorized by the Local Union or its Officers, provided such messages and information a. have been reduced to writing, or b. if not reduced to writing, are of a routine nature and do not involve work stoppages, slowdowns, refusal to repair, or drive any equipment, or any other interference with the Employer's business. The Employer agrees to recognize a duly appointed or elected recognizes these limitations upon the authority of Shop Xxxxxxx provided that Stewards and their Alternates, and shall not hold the Union has first advised liable for any unauthorized acts. The union will work with the Company to stop any such acts. The Employer in writing of so recognizing such limitations shall have the name of authority to impose proper discipline, including discharge, in the employee so appointed. The Union agrees to advise the Employer in writing of any changes made by appointment or election from time to time. (c) The Shop Xxxxxxx'x first obligation is the fulfillment of their responsibilities as an employee. During their working hours, event the Shop Xxxxxxx is not entitled to engage in Union activities other than the necessary involvement in the reporting and resolution of grievances. (d) The Union Xxxxxxx must not leave their assigned work area on Union businesshas taken unauthorized strike action, without prior permission. Such permission will not be unreasonably withheld. (e) The necessary time which is spent by Stewards during their regular working hours in reporting and resolving grievancesslowdown, or work stoppage in attending meetings specifically provided for hereinviolation of this Agreement. The Shop Xxxxxxx will be permitted reasonable time to investigate, shall be considered to be time worked. (f) Under no circumstances shall a Xxxxxxx take any action or issue any instruction which will interfere with present and process grievances within the operation or affairs regular schedule of the EmployerShop Xxxxxxx, provided there is no interference with school bus runs, or with the management of or direction proper performance of the work force. (g) duties of the employees in participating in all meetings with the company over the resolution of grievances or other company business. The Shop Xxxxxxx shall not be discriminated against suffer a loss in work opportunity and/or pay due to meetings or disciplined hearings scheduled by the company. No Shop Xxxxxxx shall make any decision with the Employer which conflicts with the terms and provisions of the Contract. The Union reserves the right to remove the Shop Xxxxxxx at any time for the proper performance of their duties on behalf good of the Union.

(h) It is understood and agreed that the Employer will recognize an alternate Shop Xxxxxxx in the absence of the regular Shop Xxxxxxx. The Union will advise the Employer of the person so designated.

Shop Stewards. (a) The Union shall is entitled to appoint or elect from among the employeesemployees a reasonable number of Union Stewards, who are employed and represent employees in the Employer shall recognize, Shop Stewards in each of the Employer's operationsbargaining unit. The duties of the Shop Xxxxxxx Union Stewards shall be to assist in the reporting and resolution of all grievances as well as disseminating bona fide information of the Union to the employeeswithin their departments. (b) The Employer agrees to recognize a duly appointed or elected Shop Union Xxxxxxx provided that the Union has first advised the Employer in writing of the name of the employee so appointed. The Union agrees to advise the Employer in writing of any changes made by appointment or election from time to time. (c) The Shop Xxxxxxx'x Union Xxxxxxx’x first obligation is the fulfillment fulfilment of their his/her responsibilities as an employee. During their his/her working hours, the Shop Union Xxxxxxx is not entitled to engage in Union activities other than the necessary involvement in the reporting and resolution of grievances. (d) The Union Xxxxxxx must not leave their his/her assigned work area on Union business, without prior permission. Such permission will not be unreasonably withheld. (e) The necessary time which is spent by Union Stewards during their regular working hours in reporting and resolving grievances, or in attending meetings specifically provided for herein, shall be considered to be time worked. (f) Under no circumstances shall a Union Xxxxxxx take any action or issue any instruction which will interfere with the operation operations or affairs of the Employer, or with the management of or direction of the work force. (g) The Shop Union Xxxxxxx shall not be discriminated against or disciplined for the proper performance of their his/her duties on behalf of the Union. (h) The Employer agrees that Union Xxxxxxx letters and official communications from the Union to its members shall be posted on the staff bulletin boards in all departments which are certified. Prior to posting, a copy shall be provided to management. (i) At any meeting at which an employee will be disciplined, he/she will have the right to have a xxxxxxx present.

Shop Stewards. (a) The Union shall is entitled to appoint or elect from among the employeesemployees four (4) Shop Stewards, one coming from Laundry, Housekeeping, Front Desk and the Employer shall recognize, Shop Stewards in each of the Employer's operationsBeer & Wine Store. The Union will also be entitled to have two (2) alternate Stewards. The duties of the Shop Xxxxxxx Stewards shall be to assist in the reporting and resolution of all grievances as well as disseminating bona fide information of the Union to the employeeswithin their departments. (b) The Employer agrees to recognize a the duly appointed or elected Shop Xxxxxxx Stewards provided that the Union has first advised the Employer in writing of the name names of the employee employees so appointedappointed or elected. The Union agrees to advise the Employer in writing of any changes made by appointment or election from time to time. (c) The Shop Xxxxxxx'x Stewards first obligation is the fulfillment fulfilment of their her responsibilities as an employee. During their her working hours, the Shop Xxxxxxx is not entitled to engage in Union activities other than the necessary involvement in the reporting and resolution of grievances. (d) The Union Xxxxxxx must not leave their her assigned work area on Union business, without prior permission. Such permission will not be unreasonably withheld. (e) The necessary time which is spent by Stewards during their regular working hours in reporting and resolving grievances, or in attending meetings specifically provided for herein, shall be considered to be time worked. (f) Under no circumstances shall a Xxxxxxx take any action or issue any instruction which will interfere with the operation or affairs of the Employer, or with the management of or direction of the work force. (g) The Shop Xxxxxxx shall not be discriminated against or disciplined for the proper performance of their her duties on behalf of the Union. (g) The Employer agrees that the Shop Xxxxxxx may post official communications from the Union to its members on the Employees' bulletin boards within the hotel.

(a) The Union shall is entitled to elect or appoint shop stewards from among within the employees, and ranks of the Employer shall recognize, Shop Stewards in each of employees at the Employer's operations. The duties of the Shop Xxxxxxx shall be to assist in the reporting and resolution of all grievances as well as disseminating bona fide information of the Union to the employeesgrievances. (b) The Employer agrees to recognize a duly appointed or elected Shop Xxxxxxx shop xxxxxxx provided that the Union has first advised the Employer Employer, in writing writing, of the name of the employee so appointed. The Union agrees to advise the Employer Employer, in writing writing, of any changes made by election or appointment or election from time to timewithin 72 hours excluding weekends and holidays. (c) The Shop Xxxxxxx'x shop xxxxxxx'x first obligation is the fulfillment fulfilment of their his responsibilities as an employee. During their his working hours, the Shop Xxxxxxx is not entitled to may engage in Union activities activities, other than the necessary involvement in the reporting and resolution of grievances, provided that they have received the department Manager’s (or designate’s) approval which will not unreasonably be withheld. (d) The Union Xxxxxxx must not leave their assigned work area on Union business, without prior permission. Such permission will not be unreasonably withheld. (e) The Reasonable and necessary time which is spent by Stewards stewards during their regular working hours in reporting and resolving grievances, grievances or in attending meetings specifically provided for herein, herein shall be considered to be time workedworked provided that they have received the department Manager’s (or designate’s) approval which will not unreasonably be withheld. (f) Under no circumstances shall a Xxxxxxx take any action or issue any instruction which will interfere with the operation or affairs of the Employer, or with the management of or direction of the work force. (ge) The Shop Xxxxxxx shop xxxxxxx shall not be discriminated against or disciplined for the proper performance of their his duties on behalf of the Union. (f) In the event that the Employer discharges a shop xxxxxxx, the Employer will notify the Union prior to the discharge, except in situations beyond Management control. Upon request by the Union, the reasons for discharge will be provided in writing. (g) The shop xxxxxxx(s) shall have no authority to alter, amend, violate or otherwise change any part of this Agreement.

Shop Stewards. (a) The Union shall appoint from among Shop Xxxxxxx System is accepted in principle by the employeesEmployer, and Shop Stewards will be recognized as having authority to act on behalf of other employees. The names of Shop Stewards will be supplied in writing to the Employer shall recognize, before they are recognized as Shop Stewards. Union Officers will be recognized as Shop Stewards in each for the purpose of the Employer's operationsthis Article. The duties of the Shop Xxxxxxx shall be to assist in the reporting and resolution of all grievances as well as disseminating bona fide information of the Union to the employees. (b) The Employer agrees to recognize a duly appointed or elected Shop Xxxxxxx provided that the Union has first advised the Employer in writing of the name of the employee so appointed. The Union agrees to advise the Employer in writing of any changes made by appointment or election from time to time. (c) The Shop Xxxxxxx'x first obligation is the fulfillment of their responsibilities as an employee. During their working hours, the Shop Xxxxxxx is not entitled to engage in Union activities other than the necessary involvement in the reporting and resolution of grievances. (d) The Union Xxxxxxx must not leave their assigned work area on Union business, without prior permission. Such permission will not be unreasonably withheld. (e) The necessary time which is spent by Stewards during their regular working hours in reporting and resolving grievances, or in attending meetings specifically provided for herein, shall be considered to be time worked. (f) Under no circumstances shall a Xxxxxxx take any action or issue any instruction which will interfere with the operation or affairs of the Employer, or with the management of or direction of the work force. (g) The Shop Xxxxxxx shall not be discriminated against or disciplined for prevented from performing the proper performance of their Shop Xxxxxxx’x function while investigating disputes and presenting adjustments. The Union understands and agrees that each Shop Xxxxxxx is employed to perform work as required by the Employer and that the Shop Xxxxxxx will not leave work during working hours except to perform Shop Xxxxxxx duties on behalf as provided in this Collective Agreement. Therefore, no Shop Xxxxxxx shall leave work without obtaining the permission of the UnionShop Xxxxxxx’x supervisor, and subject to operational considerations, such permission shall not be unreasonably withheld. Shop Stewards shall suffer no loss of pay for time spent on the Employer’s premises performing these duties. When a supervisor intends to issue a disciplinary or discharge notice to an Employee, the supervisor shall so notify the Employee in advance of the purpose of the interview in order that the Employee if she/he wishes to, may contact her/his Xxxxxxx to be present at the interview. The Supervisor shall advise the employee to their right to Union representation at this time.

Shop Stewards. (a) The Union shall is entitled to appoint or elect from among the employees, and the Employer shall recognize, employees a reasonable number of Shop Stewards who are employed in each of and represent employees in the Employer's operationsbargaining unit. The duties of the Shop Xxxxxxx Stewards shall be to assist in the reporting and resolution of all grievances as well as disseminating bona fide information of the Union to the employeesgrievances. (b) The Employer agrees to recognize a duly appointed or elected Shop Xxxxxxx provided that the Union has first advised the Employer in writing of the name of the employee so appointed. The Union agrees to advise the Employer in writing of any changes made by appointment or election from time to time. (c) The Shop Xxxxxxx'x first obligation is the fulfillment of their responsibilities as an employee. During their working hours, the Shop Xxxxxxx is not entitled to engage in Union activities other than the necessary involvement in the reporting and resolution of grievances. (d) The Union Xxxxxxx must not leave their assigned work area on Union business, without prior permission. Such permission will not be unreasonably withheld, with the understanding that job duties come first. (e) The necessary approved time which is spent by Stewards stewards during their regular working hours in reporting and resolving grievances, or in attending meetings specifically provided for herein, shall be considered to be time worked. (f) Under no circumstances shall a Xxxxxxx take any action or issue any instruction which will interfere with the operation or affairs of the Employer, or with the management of or direction of the work forceworkforce. (g) The Shop Xxxxxxx shall not be discriminated against or disciplined for the proper performance of their duties on behalf of the Union. (h) The Employer agrees that the Shop Xxxxxxx may post official communications from the Union to its members on the employees' bulletin boards within the property, provided such communication is of a businesslike and non-inflammatory nature.

Shop Stewards. (a) The Union shall appoint from among the employees, and the Employer shall recognize, recognize two (2) Area Shop Stewards in each of the Employer's operationsand a Unit Chair. The duties of the Shop Xxxxxxx and Unit Chair shall be to assist in the reporting and resolution of all grievances as well as disseminating bona fide information of the Union to the employees. (b) The Employer agrees to recognize a duly appointed or elected Shop Xxxxxxx Stewards and Unit Chair provided that the Union has first advised the Employer in writing of the name of the employee employees so appointed. The Union agrees to advise the Employer in writing of any changes made by appointment or election from time to time. (c) The Shop Xxxxxxx'x Xxxxxxx’x, as well as the Unit Chair’s, first obligation is the fulfillment fulfilment of their responsibilities his/her responsibility as an employee. During their his/her working hours, the Shop Xxxxxxx is and the Unit Chair are not entitled to engage in Union activities other than the is necessary involvement in the reporting order to receive, investigate and resolution of resolve grievances. (d) The Union Xxxxxxx Shop Stewards and the Unit Chair must not leave their his/her assigned work area and/or duty on Union business, business without prior permissionpermission from the Employer. Such permission will not be unreasonably withheld. (e) The necessary time which is spent by Stewards and the Unit Chair during their regular working hours in reporting and resolving grievances, or in attending meetings specifically provided for herein, shall be considered to be time worked. (f) Under no circumstances shall a Xxxxxxx or the Unit Chair take any action or issue any instruction which will interfere with the operation or affairs of the Employer, or with the management Management of or direction of the work force. (g) The Shop Xxxxxxx and the Unit Chair shall not be discriminated against or disciplined for the proper performance of their his/her duties on behalf of the Union.

Shop Stewards. (a) The Union shall is entitled to appoint or elect from among the employeesemployees a reasonable number of Union Stewards, who are employed and represent employees in the Employer shall recognize, Shop Stewards in each of the Employer's operationsbargaining unit. The duties of the Shop Xxxxxxx Union Stewards shall be to assist in the reporting and resolution of all grievances as well as disseminating bona fide information of the Union to the employeeswithin their departments. (b) The Employer agrees to recognize a duly appointed or elected Shop Union Xxxxxxx provided that the Union has first advised the Employer in writing of the name of the employee so appointed. The Union agrees to advise the Employer in writing of any changes made by appointment or election from time to time. (c) The Shop Xxxxxxx'x Union Xxxxxxx’x first obligation is the fulfillment fulfilment of their his/her responsibilities as an employee. During their his/her working hours, the Shop Union Xxxxxxx is not entitled to engage in Union activities other than the necessary involvement in the reporting and resolution of grievances. (d) The Union Xxxxxxx must not leave their his/her assigned work area on Union business, without prior permission. Such permission will not be unreasonably withheld. (e) The necessary time which is spent by Union Stewards during their regular working hours in reporting and resolving grievances, or in attending meetings specifically provided for herein, shall be considered to be time worked. (f) Under no circumstances shall a Union Xxxxxxx take any action or issue any instruction which will interfere with the operation operations or affairs of the Employer, or with the management of or direction of the work force. (g) The Shop Union Xxxxxxx shall not be discriminated against or disciplined for the proper performance of their his/her duties on behalf of the Union. (h) The Employer agrees that Union Xxxxxxx letters and official communications from the Union to its members shall be posted on the staff bulletin boards in all departments which are certified. (i) At any meeting at which an employee will be disciplined, he/she will have the right to have a xxxxxxx present.

Shop Stewards. (a) 3.01 The Union shall appoint from among the employees, and the Employer shall recognize, Shop Stewards in each of the Employer's ’s operations. The duties of the Shop Xxxxxxx shall be to assist in the reporting and resolution of all grievances as well as disseminating bona fide information of the Union to the employees. No more than ten (10) stewards will be appointed. (b) 3.02 The Employer agrees to recognize a duly appointed or elected Shop Xxxxxxx provided that the Union has first advised the Employer in writing of the name of the employee so appointed. The Union agrees to advise the Employer in writing of any changes made by appointment or election from time to time. (c) 3.03 The Shop Xxxxxxx'x Xxxxxxx’x first obligation is the fulfillment fulfilment of their responsibilities as an employee. During their working hours, the Shop Xxxxxxx is not entitled to engage in Union activities other than the necessary involvement in the reporting and resolution of grievances. (d) 3.04 The Union Xxxxxxx must not leave their assigned work area on Union business, without prior permission. Such permission will not be unreasonably withheld. (e) 3.05 The necessary time which is spent by Stewards during their regular working hours in reporting and resolving grievances, grievances or in attending meetings specifically provided for herein, herein shall be considered to be time worked. (f) 3.06 Under no circumstances shall a Xxxxxxx take any action or issue any instruction which will interfere with the operation or affairs of the Employer, or with the management of or direction of the work force. (e) The necessary approved time which is spent by Stewards during their her regular working hours in reporting and resolving grievances, or in attending meetings specifically provided for herein, shall be considered to be time worked. (f) Under no circumstances shall a Xxxxxxx take any action or issue any instruction which will interfere with the operation or affairs of the Employer, or with the management Management of or direction of the work force. (g) The Shop Xxxxxxx shall not be discriminated against or disciplined for the proper performance of their her duties on behalf of the Union.

Shop Stewards. (a) The Union shall appoint from among the employees, and the Employer shall recognize, Shop Stewards in each of the Employer's operations. The duties of the Shop Xxxxxxx shall be to assist in the reporting and resolution of all grievances as well as disseminating bona fide information Business Representative of the Union to having jurisdiction over the employees. (b) The site shall appoint a competent journeyman as a Shop Xxxxxxx with whom the Employer agrees to recognize a duly appointed or elected and meet. His employment may be terminated for just cause by the employer subject to the Grievance & Arbitration procedure. The Shop Xxxxxxx provided that shall take only the Union has first advised the Employer in writing necessary time to perform his duties. The Shop Xxxxxxx shall have no authority to call any strike or stoppage of work or to make any agreement with changes, modifies or alters any of the name of the employee so appointedterms and conditions set forth in this Agreement. The Union agrees to advise the Employer in writing of any changes made by appointment or election from time to time. (c) The Shop Xxxxxxx'x first obligation is the fulfillment of their responsibilities as an employee. During their working hours, the Shop Xxxxxxx is not entitled to engage in Union activities other than the necessary involvement in the reporting and resolution of grievances. (d) The Union Xxxxxxx must not leave their assigned work area on Union business, without prior permission. Such permission will not be unreasonably withheld. (e) The necessary time which is spent by Stewards during their regular working hours in reporting and resolving grievances, or in attending meetings specifically provided for herein, shall be considered to be time worked. (f) Under no circumstances shall a Xxxxxxx take any action or issue any instruction which will interfere with the operation or affairs of the Employer, or with the management of or direction of the work force. (g) The Shop Xxxxxxx shall not be discriminated against and shall be the last man laid off. The term “Last Man” shall be construed as applying to journeymen and apprentices, excluding only the xxxxxxx, who shall be considered an essential employee and required to remain at the job site at the discretion of the employer. The authority of the Shop Xxxxxxx is limited solely to bringing grievances to the attention of the Union and the Employers. As to the other matters, neither the Xxxxxxx nor any employee or disciplined group of employees shall be deemed an agent of the Union or authorized to bind the Union. The Employer agrees that the sole person or persons authorized or having the power to act as agent of the Union shall be the Executive Committee of the South Jersey Regional Council of Carpenters acting as a committee (or such substitutions or additional persons as may be hereafter formerly designated by written notice to the Employer). The Union shall not be responsible for the proper performance acts of their duties on behalf any other or persons including members and employees of the Union.

Shop Stewards. (a) 17.01 The Union shall is entitled to appoint or elect from among the employees, and the Employer shall recognize, regular employees three (3) Shop Stewards in each and three (3) Alternate Shop Stewards, one of whom may be the Employer's operations. The duties of the Shop Xxxxxxx shall be to assist in the reporting and resolution of all grievances as well as disseminating bona fide information of the Union to the employeesUnit Chair. (b) 17.02 The Employer agrees to recognize a the duly appointed or elected Shop Xxxxxxx Stewards provided that the Union has first advised the Employer in writing of the name names of the employee employees so appointedappointed or elected. The Union agrees to advise the Employer in writing of any changes made by appointment or election from time to time. (c) 17.03 The Shop Xxxxxxx'x first obligation is the fulfillment fulfilment of their his responsibilities as an employee. 17.04 The functions of Shop Stewards are to consider, investigate and attempt to resolve formal grievances. During their working hours, the Shop Xxxxxxx is not entitled to engage in Union activities other than the necessary involvement If in the reporting and resolution course of grievances. (d) The Union investigating a formal grievance, a Xxxxxxx requires time during working hours of his shift, he must not leave their assigned work area on Union business, without prior permissionfirst obtain the permission of his Supervisor. Such permission will shall not be unreasonably withheld. (e) The necessary 17.05 Where such permission is granted, the reasonable time which is spent by Stewards during their regular working hours in reporting and resolving grievances, or in attending meetings specifically provided for herein, the Shop Xxxxxxx shall be considered to be deemed as time worked. Such time shall be limited to one (1) hour. If more time is required, such request shall not be unreasonably withheld. (f) Under no circumstances shall a Xxxxxxx take any action or issue any instruction which will interfere with the operation or affairs of the Employer, or with the management of or direction of the work force. (g) 17.06 The Shop Xxxxxxx shall not be discriminated against or disciplined solely for the proper performance of their his duties on behalf of the Union.

Shop Stewards. (a) The Union shall is entitled to appoint or elect from among the employees, employees a reasonable number of Union Stewards who are employed in and represent employees in the Employer shall recognize, Shop Stewards in each of the Employer's operationsbargaining unit. The duties of the Shop Xxxxxxx Union Stewards shall be to assist in the reporting and resolution of all grievances as well as disseminating bona fide information of the Union to the employeeswithin their departments. (b) The Employer agrees to recognize a duly appointed or elected Shop Union Xxxxxxx provided that the Union has first advised the Employer in writing of the name of the employee so appointed. The Union agrees to advise the Employer in writing of any changes made by appointment or election from time to time. (c) The Shop Xxxxxxx'x Union Xxxxxxx’x first obligation is the fulfillment of their responsibilities responsibili- ties as an employee. During their working hours, the Shop Union Xxxxxxx is not entitled to engage in Union activities other than the necessary involvement in the reporting and resolution of grievancesactivities. (d) The Union Xxxxxxx must not leave their assigned work area on Union businessbusi- ness, without prior permission. Such permission will not be unreasonably withheld. (e) The necessary If requested by the Employer, the time which is spent by Union Stewards during their regular working hours in reporting and or resolving grievances, or and in attending meetings specifically provided for herein, shall be considered to be time worked. (f) Under no circumstances shall a Union Xxxxxxx take any action or issue any instruction which will interfere with the operation operations or affairs of the Employer, or with the management of or direction of the work force. (g) The Shop Xxxxxxx Employer and the Union agree that no person shall not be discriminated intimidate, coerce, impose any pecuniary or other penalty on, or otherwise discriminate against any person because that person exercises or disciplined for seeks to exercise any right under the proper performance of their duties on behalf collective agreement, or complains, gives evidence or otherwise assists in respect of the Unioninitiation or prosecution of a grievance or other proceeding under this collective agreement.

Shop Stewards. (a) The Union shall is entitled to appoint or elect from among the employees, and a Xxxxxxx for each hotel to rooms.-Additional will be for each additional rooms. Such stewards should be appointed from the Employer shall recognize, Shop Stewards major departments in each of the Employer's operationshotel as much as possible. The duties of the Shop Xxxxxxx Stewards shall be to assist in the reporting and resolution of all grievances as well as disseminating bona fide information of the Union to the employees. (b) within their departments. The Employer agrees to recognize a duly appointed ap- pointed or elected Shop Xxxxxxx provided that the Union has first advised the Employer in writing of the name of the employee so appointed. The Union agrees to advise the Employer in writing of any changes made by appointment or election from time to time. (c) . The Shop Xxxxxxx'x Xxxxxxx’x first obligation is the fulfillment fulfil- ment of their responsibilities as an employee. During their working hours, the Shop Xxxxxxx is not entitled to engage in Union activities other than the necessary involvement in the reporting and resolution of grievances. (d) griev- ances. Under no circumstances shall a Xxxxxxx take any action or issue any instruction which will interfere with the operation or affairs of the Employer, or with the management of or direction of the work force. (g) . The Shop Xxxxxxx shall not be discriminated against or disciplined for the proper performance of their duties on behalf of the Union. The Employer agrees that the Shop Xxxxxxx may post official communications from the Union to its members on the employees’ bulletin boards within the hotel. It is understood and agreed that there may need to be an additional xxxxxxx in some hotels of less than one hundred rooms. is, of course providing the first xxxxxxx is not from these departments. The additional Xxxxxxx will be an employee from one of these departments.

Shop Stewards. (a) The Union shall appoint from among the employees, employees and the Employer employer shall recognize, recognize Shop Stewards in each of the Employer's operationsand a Chief Shop Xxxxxxx. The duties of the Shop Xxxxxxx and Chief Shop Xxxxxxx shall be to assist in the reporting and resolution of all grievances as well as disseminating bona fide information of the Union to the employees. It is understood that when dealing with the employer each grievance shall ordinarily be handled by one (1) Shop Xxxxxxx regardless of the number of Shop Stewards in the workplace. (b) The Employer agrees to recognize a duly appointed or elected Shop Xxxxxxx provided that the Union has first advised the Employer in writing of the name of the employee so appointed. The Union agrees to advise the Employer in writing of any changes made by appointment or election from time to time. (c) The Shop Xxxxxxx'x first obligation is the fulfillment of their responsibilities as an employee. During their working hours, the Shop Xxxxxxx is not entitled to engage in Union activities other than the necessary involvement in the reporting and resolution of grievances. (d) The Union Xxxxxxx must not leave their assigned work area on Union business, business without prior permissionpermission from the Employer. Such permission will not be unreasonably withheld. (e) The necessary time which is spent by Stewards during their regular working hours in reporting and resolving grievances, or in attending meetings specifically provided for herein, shall be considered to be time worked. (f) Under no circumstances shall a Xxxxxxx take any action or issue any instruction which will interfere with the operation or affairs of the Employer, or with the management of or direction of the work force. (g) The Shop Xxxxxxx shall not be discriminated against or disciplined for the proper performance of their duties on behalf of the Union.

Shop Stewards. (a) Shop Stewards: Stewards shall be entitled to leave their work during regular working hours for the investigation and processing of grievances and other workplace issues, and to attend meetings with the Employer. Permission to leave work during working hours for such purpose shall first be obtained from management, and such permission shall not be unreasonably withheld. All such time spent performing Union duties shall be considered to be time worked. The Union shall appoint from among the employeesagrees to keep, and the Employer shall recognizeas much as possible, Shop Stewards in each of the Employer's operations. The duties of the Shop Xxxxxxx shall be such request to assist in the reporting and resolution of all grievances as well as disseminating bona fide information of the Union to the employeesa minimum. (b) The Employer agrees to recognize a duly appointed or elected Shop Xxxxxxx provided that and the Union has first advised agree that no officers of the Employer or employees may enter into any contract inconsistent with this Agreement. Any amendment or changes as outlined in the Agreement during its term shall be incorporated only by mutual consent. It is agreed by the Employer and the Union that this paragraph also covers working conditions, so long as it does not prevent the Employer from maintaining an adequate and qualified work force, or infringe on the Management’s Right clause as spelled out in this Agreement. (c) The Union may elect or otherwise appoint one (1) Xxxxxxx at each location for the purpose of assisting employees in presenting grievances to the Company as set forth in this agreement. (d) The Union shall keep the Company notified in writing of the name of the employee so appointedXxxxxxx and the effective date of their appointment. The Union agrees Company shall not be required to advise the Employer recognize a Xxxxxxx until so notified in writing of any changes made by appointment his election or election from time to time. (c) The Shop Xxxxxxx'x first obligation is the fulfillment of their responsibilities as an employee. (f) Under no circumstances shall a Xxxxxxx take any action or issue any instruction which will interfere with the operation or affairs of the Employer, or with the management of or direction of the work force. (g) The Shop Xxxxxxx shall not prior to any orientation and the Shop Xxxxxxx will be discriminated against or disciplined for given the proper performance of their duties on behalf of opportunity to provide the Unionnew employee with introductory information including the Collective Agreement.

Shop Stewards. 20.01 The Company shall recognize one (a1) The Union shall appoint from among Shop Xxxxxxx and one (1) alternate Shop Xxxxxxx appointed and/or elected by the employees, and Union to represent employees in the Employer shall recognize, Shop Stewards in each of the Employer's operationsbargaining unit. Shop Stewards shall request time off to assist in the reporting and resolution of all grievances as well as disseminating bona fide information of the Union to the employees. (b) The Employer agrees to recognize a duly appointed or elected Shop Xxxxxxx provided that the Union has first advised the Employer in writing of the name of the employee so appointed. The Union agrees to advise the Employer in writing of any changes made by appointment or election from time to time. (c) The Shop Xxxxxxx'x first obligation is the fulfillment of their responsibilities as an employee. During their working hours, the Shop Xxxxxxx is not entitled to engage in Union activities other than the necessary involvement in the reporting and resolution of investigate grievances. (d) The Union Xxxxxxx must not leave their assigned work area on Union business, without prior permission. Such permission requests will not be unreasonably withheld. denied or delayed and shall be honoured no later than one (e1) The necessary hour from the time which of the request. Abuse of leave or excessive use of time spent by Stewards during their regular working hours adjusting grievances shall not be permitted and in reporting and resolving grievances, no event shall the adjustment of grievances unnecessarily interfere with or in attending meetings specifically provided for herein, disrupt production. Time spent conducting the above noted duties shall be considered to be time workedworked and the punching in and out shall not result in any pay being deducted from the Shop Xxxxxxx. During their his/her working hours, the Shop Union Xxxxxxx is not entitled to engage in Union activities other than the necessary involvement in the reporting and resolution of grievances. (d) The Union Xxxxxxx must not leave their his/her assigned work area on Union business, without prior permission. Such permission will not be unreasonably withheld. (e) The necessary time which is spent by Union Stewards during their regular working hours in reporting and resolving grievances, or in attending meetings specifically provided for herein, shall be considered to be time worked. (f) Under no circumstances shall a Union Xxxxxxx take any action or issue any instruction which will interfere with the operation operations or affairs of the Employer, or with the management of or direction of the work force. (g) The Shop Union Xxxxxxx shall not be discriminated against or disciplined for the proper performance of their his/her duties on behalf of the Union. (h) The Employer agrees that Union Xxxxxxx letters and official communications from the Union to its members shall be posted on the staff bulletin boards in all departments which are certified.

Shop Stewards.
