Common use of Short Term Leave for Union Business Clause in Contracts

Short Term Leave for Union Business. The University agrees to grant representatives of the Union leave of absence to attend union conventions or to perform other functions on behalf of the Union, in accordance with the provisions of this Article 6.03(e). Employees may make requests for short term leave for union business, and such requests shall not be unreasonably denied. Such requests should be made as far in advance as possible, however it is understood that in cases of emergency, advance notice may not be possible. The Union will be charged for salary maintenance of its representatives.
