Short Term Leave. (a) An employee may arrange, subject to Supervisor's approval, to exchange duties with another employee or arrange substitution for short periods without prejudice to future reassignment or reappointment.
(b) If any employee cannot arrange to exchange duties with another employee or arrange substitution as per Article B 6.02 (a), the employee can make a written application for leave of absence without pay to their supervisor. Leave shall not be unreasonably denied or prejudice future assignment or reappointment. If a short term leave request is denied, the employee may request written reasons for the denial. Written reasons shall be provided within two (2) weeks of the request.
Short Term Leave. Members who are LTD trustees and Union stewards or designates may apply in writing to the Employer for short term leaves of absence for; attendance at union conventions, union courses, and union committees. The employee will give reasonable notice, which will be at least seven (7) days. The Employer will make every reasonable effort to accommodate such leave, and shall grant it subject to the ability to maintain the operational needs of the department. With the exception of members of the Union's executive, the employer is not required to grant more than twenty (20) days LOA per calendar year under this provision.
Short Term Leave. 1. The leave is requested five (5) working days in advance of the beginning of such leave except in situations where the employee is prevented from doing so by conditions beyond his/her control.
2. The leave may not exceed ten (10) consecutive working days.
3. The leave, except in emergency situations, shall not fall during the first two (2) weeks of school nor the last two (2) weeks of school.
a. The day(s) will be granted on a “first-requested, first-granted” basis.
b. No employee may have more than (10) working days of short term leaves in any school year.
c. Benefits shall continue during such leave.
4. No employee may have more than one (1) short term leave in any school year.
5. A short term leave will not, due to the absence of the employee, cause any evaluation time line to expire. Any evaluation time line that falls during a short term leave will be extended for a number of work days equal to the length of the short term leave, beginning the day the employee returns from leave.
Short Term Leave. Short term leave may be granted by the District without loss of pay or benefits to the Principal, for civic activities, professional service, education workshops, or other activities as approved by the District. Such leave shall require prior approval of the Superintendent.

A short-term leave of absence without pay may be granted for an aggregate period not to exceed ten (10) working days for each twelve (12) months of continuous employment, up to a maximum of thirty (30) working days. The Board may elect to pay any accrued vacation leave prior to a short-term leave in excess of ten (10) working days. Good and sufficient reason for the request must be shown, and individual cases will be decided on their own merit. An employee granted a leave of absence not exceeding thirty (30) working days shall, upon return from the leave, be reinstated in his/her original position.
Short Term Leave. A leave up to one month may be granted in the sole discretion of the Superintendent. Benefits and seniority shall remain in effect for the duration of the leave. Seniority shall neither accrue nor be lost should the short term leave go beyond one (1) month. In determining whether to grant such leave requests, the Superintendent shall specifically determine the following:
1. Any negative impact on the District operations, which may be caused by the employee’s absence.
2. The availability of substitute or replacement personnel with the appropriate skills.
3. The possible long-term benefit to the District from the employee’s activities while on leave.
4. Extended leaves shall generally not be granted under this provision for recreational activities, job seeking, hunting/fishing, or other similar activities.
5. Any other factors which may be relevant to any particular request.
